Dominio .it : è vero che sconviene?

Ciao a tutti. Ho quasi finito di preparare il mio sito web in locale e ora devo comprare un dominio per poterlo mettere on-line.
Premetto che faccio il libero professionista in Italia, pertanto ho bisogno di visibilità qui.

Di recente, mi è stato sconsigliato di acquistare un dominio ".it" perché anche se è vero che apparirei più agevolmente tra i risultati di ricerca in Italia, ci sarebbero un'infinità di rotture di scatole aggiuntive.

Inoltre, cercando on-line, ho trovato questo articolo di una persona che sembra avere il "dente avvelenato" nei confronti dei domini.it e che quindi sembra mancare di obiettività, anche se la sua esperienza può comunque essere reale e quindi reale motivo di preoccupazione. http://www.dominio-it.com/

Premetto che non ho mai registrato domini, ma quel sito mi sembra esagerato e sento la necessità di fare qualche precisazione.

Punto 1: boh, ok, probabilmente realistico e disfattista, anche se non so bene che ruolo abbia 'sta cosa nella scelta tre com ed it

Punto 2: riguarda il bando (http://www.google-melange.com/gci/document/show/gci_program/google/gci2011/tos) del concorso Google Code-in (http://www.google-melange.com/gci/homepage/google/gci2011), indirizzato a studenti minorenni. Da noi la legislatura in materia di lavoro minorile è piuttosto stringente e, temo, complessa, quindi Google (Padrone di internet :), ma non della terra) se n'è tirata fuori.

Punto 3: dal 28/09/2009 la procedura di registrazione è diventata sincrona (http://www.b2b24.ilsole24ore.com/articoli/0,1254,24_ART_102159,00.html), cioè non richiede più fax o documenti cartacei.

Punti 4, 5, 6 e 7: sì, i politici han sempre voglia di applicare norme di concetto giornalistico a siti internet, con risultati potenzialmente ingestibili. Personalmente non so come sia veramente la situazione attuale.
Credo che questo crei problemi soprattutto se si desidera svolgere attività di tipo giornalistico in senso lato, ma dovrebbe essere più gestibile in altri ambiti.
Per il resto si tratta di avere cura di utilizzare materiale multimediale con licenza chiara nel modo appropriato ed avere cura di gestire bene eventuali sezioni aperte a contributo pubblico.
