accedere ad Ubuntu 10.04

Ciao a tutti!
Da ieri mi sta capitando una cosa stranissima: al momento dell'avvio di Ubuntu 10.04, il sistema mi chiede la password per poter entrare (mai successo), digito, sembra avviarsi, ma dopo due secondi torna a presentarmi la stessa videata di accesso, chiedendomi di nuovo ID e password. Cosa può essere successo?

prova a entrare con un'altro utente....

oppure entra con la modalita' rescue (runlevel 1)

potrebbe essere un problema di spazio nella /HOME ?

no, non ho creato altri utenti. non riesco neppure ad entrare in recovery mode perché, dopo aver lanciato W7, ho sputtanato il grub loader. ora, utilizzando "auto-grub-magik" o qualcosa del genere, non vedo le recovery mode.

per entrare in singoloutente basta che aggiungi in GRUB

sulla riga del kernel, "s" o "1"

probabilmente hai attive anche le console testuali

ho provato anche con singolo utente, ma non parte. la seconda soluzione proposta funziona a metà: riesco ad accedere al sistema, ma solo in modalità "testuale" (si dice così?). reminescenze varie mi hanno portato a provare startx, ma il comando non fa partire la "grafica".

quando sei in consolle puoi:


vedere il log di xorg:
/var/log/Xorg.0.log
e vedere se trovi qualche errore, linee che iniziano per "EE"

puoi riconfigurare X:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

intanto grazie!
non sono riuscito ad aprire il file di log... boh! ho provato a riconfigurare, ma invano. il comando è stato velocissimo e il successivo startx, mi restituisce l'errore di prima:

da errore perche' Xorg e' ancora attivo...


forse, se non hai niente da perdere, fai prima a reinstallare

sembra che dia un errore il login dell'utente...
ma bisognerebbe trovare l'errore in:

/var/log/messages
o
/var/log/auth.log

comunque ho recuperato i file (messages è inmmenso) che dicevi e ho trovato anche versioni diverse (messages.1 messages.2.gz ecc.) boh, in allegato ho messo quelli che mi hai indicato tu. :confused:
