Chi si offre volontario per aiutarmi a far funzionare questa favolosa chiavetta sulla mia gentoo box???

Ora sto navigando con il mio cellulare UMTS... quindi presumo che il kernel sia compilato correttamente...

Il problema per questa chiavetta è che, nonostante siano presenti i driver anche per linux, non riesce a riconoscerla come modem... ma la vede sempre come device di storage...

i diriver per linux inclusi sulla chiavetta oltre ad installare una marea di zozzerie che non mi servono... vanno a installare una regola di udev... che evidentemente non funziona visto che quando avvio il prog non riesce a smontare la chiavetta... cmq così a naso penso che il problema sia di Hald ma non ne sono sicuro...

idee???

ciao!

Allora cosa intendi per eseguire a mano? riguardo ai driver sulla chiavetta o riguardo a usb_modeswitch???

In pratica i driver installano un paio di binari che non mi è dato sapere a cosa servano... un programma scritto in java, orribile (che è uguale a quallo che c'è su windows...) per gestire le connessioni (preferirei usare networkmanager come faccio con il cell...)!
Ho provato ad installare sti driver ma in pratica fa confuzione nel unmount della chiavetta e prova a smontare prima la partizione di boot e poi la partizione dati... ovviamente senza riuscirci...

penso che il modo migliore per far andare tutto sia attraverso usb_modeswitch... che però pare non supportare a pieno la chiavetta...

edit:dimenticavo che con la chiavetta inserita ogni tanto a random mi escono fuori dei messaggi di errore che dicono che è impossibile smontare il supporto...

riedit: aggiungo che penso di comprare un router huawei d100 compatibile con la chiavetta per evitare appunto questi inconvenienti quindi il problema non è vitale... però mi scoccia!!! :P

se hai aggiunto una regola udev...

al riconoscimento degli ID-usb della chiavetta, dovrebbe eseguire un comando



p.s.
mi pare di aver letto che ubuntu-10.4 abbia risolto il problema

Ti linko una pagina del wiki di Arch. Anche se il modello è diverso, può dare un idea dei programmi che servono per farla funzionare... vedi se ti è utile.

Funzia raga!!! Che soddisfazione... ho ricompilato il kernel con usbserial come modulo ma non penso che la svolta sia dettata da questo quanto piuttosto l'aver aggiunto un modulo extra tra quelli di usb_serial...

Dato che la chiavetta funziona egregiamente ora ne approfitto per chiedere un paio di altre cosette...

1: è possibile visualizzare in quanto modo quante tacche prende... oppure per farlo tocca usare per forza il sw del gestore???
2:idem come sopra per qualche statistica extra sulla chiavetta...
3:quando la chiavetta è montata non fa altro che avvisarmi che non riesce a smontarla... maledizione questo è un residuo dei driver che ho provato ad intallare seconedo voi come potrei risolvere?
