ciao a tutti,

qualcuno sa se esiste la possibilità di installare una RAM esterna e portatile (se un oggetto del genere esiste, ovviamente) su Windows XP?

Non esiste. la ram non è una periferica.
ma forse tu stai cercando una memoria Readyboost simile a quella per Windows Vista...

sto cercando una periferica collegabile tramite porta USB che aumenti considerevolmente le prestazioni del PC, senza intasare la RAM. Esiste per XP?

puoi usare una pendrive qualsiasi, meglio se ad alte prestazioni, e qualche programma di gestione come questo: http://www.geekissimo.com/2008/02/05/la-tecnologia-readyboost-approda-anche-su-windows-xp/
