Uno è un alice gate2 ed un altro un dg834gt...

no soltanto 1.
Dovresti usare il gate2 connesso al router (se il netgear è router senza modem-> ovvero connesso alla porta wan (rj45) del netgear e non rj11 per capirci) e far connettere il router al modem alice tramite pppoe (il modem alice deve essere settato in bridged).
