Sidux si sta mangiando un sacco di spazio, tanto che mi sono rimasti scarsi 5 giga liberi su 18 che ne avevo assegnati. Contando che non ho poi così tanta roba assegnata inizio a pensare che ci siano librerie o quant'altro di semi-inutile ad occuparmi spazio.

Ho avviato tramite uno script reperito sul web il purge di tutti i file di configurazione dei pacchetti disinstallati. Ho anche avviato un programma, deborphan, che mi elimina i pacchetti senza dipendenze. Ma lo spazio che sono riuscito a lbierare sarà si e no di un giga.

Cavolo durante la notte l'hard disk si è magicamente riempito del tutto. Anche ieri sera si stava riempiendo poco a poco! cosa può essere?? io stavo scaricando, ma 1 giga scarso con Jdownloader e sopratutto su un'altro hard disk, come hanno fatto giga a volatilzizarsi?

apt-get autoclean (cancella tutti i deb obsoleti in /var/cache/apt/archives/)
apt-get clean (cancella tutti i deb in /var/cache/apt/archives/)

Altrimenti si può iniziare la caccia con il buon du.
Per esempio, per avere un sommario dello spazio utilizzato relativo al primo livello della partizione /:
root@altarf:~# du -xh --max-depth=1 /
24M /boot

Già ho dato DU ed ho scoperto che avevo una variabile temporanea che occupava 13 giga! e non so come sia potuto accadere che si è riempita così!
A parte che ho anche scoperto che si era riempito il cestino di root di quasi 3 giga di file eppure al massimo da root utilizzo apt-get, non credo che il remove sposti i file nel cestino, o si?

Come variabile temporanea da 13 G? Un file in /tmp? Direi che è probabile che sia un simpatico baco di un programma a creare un mostro da 13 giga.

Il cestino nemmeno sapevo dove stava.
Non lo uso mai e non mi risulta che lo usi nessun programma da linea di comando con impostazioni standard.

Veh, è un po' impolverato...

......Una cosa che non viene mai detta è quella di cancellare gli
xserver-xorg relativi a driver di schede video che non sono installate sul proprio hardware.
E' poca cosa, ma è utile saperlo.

apt-get autoremove
apt-get remove
apt-get clean

mi sono liberato un bel po di spazio ;)

ma il cestino del root neanche esiste :confused: ... meglio cosi :D

Controlla anche .xsession-errors nella tua home.
Da me si era preso spazio per 13 o 20 giga :D si prendeva 1 giga a sessione :asd:

Sinceramente non me le so spiegare 13-14 giga di file temporanei, mi dispiace solo che nella fretta gli ho cancellati senza vedere cosa fossero.

Ad ogni modo fortunatamente il sistema è tornato ad essere ottimale.

Sapete invece cosa non sto facendo da un pò ? l'upgrade dei pacchetti. Non so se sia una cazzata o meno, ma dopo che mi è capitato qualche pacchetto di sistema altamente buggato ho lasciato perdere. Quando dovrò aggiornare qualche programma aggiornerò solo i pacchetti richiesti.

Voi che dite? è una mossa poco saggia? però a parte questo problema dei file temporanei il sistema per me è stabile, perchè fare upgrade?

Pure pidgin quando l'ho upgradato ha iniziato a bloccarsi e darmi problemi.
