problema con scheda wireless e chipset X48

salve,
succede questo: ho una scheda (vecchiotta...) wireless GIGABYTE mod. GN-WPEAG 108 Mb/sec. che funziona perfettamente sul "vecchio" pc con scheda madre DFI NF4 (sok.939) mentre sulla nuova DFI LANPARTY LT X48 non va, o meglio, durante l'installazione dei driver si inchioda il sistema e non riparte se non con il reset...
ho provato la stessa scheda su una ASUS P5E con chipset X38 e succede la stessa cosa, si blocca l'installazione durante il caricamento del file AR5211.SYS.
ovviamente ho scaricato gli ultimi driver disponibili (anno 2007) ma....niente.:(

ho mandato una e-mail all'assistenza gigabyte, speriamo rispondano:mc:
ho cercato anche un aggiornamento del firmware della scheda wireless ma sembra che non esista.
mi devo rassegnare a comperare una scheda + recente?

Thank you for your kindly mail again. About the issue you mentioned, there might be hardware incompatibility issue between GN-WPEAG and new motherboards. Please kindly refer to the manual of your new system. To assign the IRQ manually, and see if the problem can be resolved.

Besides that, if possible, please kindly use other LAN card on the new system and connect to internet first. And then perform "Windows update" with GC-WPEAG installed. in pratica mi dicono di provare ad impostare un IRQ diverso (cosa che ho già fatto) oppure di aggiornare i driver della scheda madre....
