Gestore Adept mi chiede CD Kubuntu 7.04 ma non lo legge

Scusate, ho provato a cercare sul forum e in tutto il web ma non sono venuto a capo del seguente problema.
Dopo gli ultimi aggiornamenti (18/5/08) nel tentativo di installare un pacchetto usando la linea di comando Kubuntu mi restituisce (ma lo stesso vale da interfaccia grafica):
Cambio disco: Inserire il disco chiamato
'Kubuntu 7.04 _Feisty Fawn_ - Release i386 (20070417)'
nel dispositivo '/cdrom/' e premere invio

Ho inserito il CD usato per l'installazione live, ma non legge nulla.
C'è un modo per recuperare la situazione o devo cancellare tutto e installare di nuovo?

Controlla o posta il tuo /etc/apt/sources.list

Secondo me sono saltati i repo.

Spero che sia la procedura giusta, mi sembrava eccessivo incollare il testo in questa finestra.

Prova a sostituire il tuo sources.list con questo: ti ho messo in rosso l'unica differenza:

In pratica ho commentato la linea che faceva prendere il pacchetto dal cdrom.
Per sostituirlo apri un terminale e digita "sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list" e modifichi il file, poi digiti "sudo apt-get update" e infine prova a reinstallare il pacchetto.

Grazie mille per la disponibilità. Problema risolto.
Rimane aperta però una condizione che guarda caso è emersa proprio assieme alla comparsa dell'anomalia con sources.list.
Te la descrivo e ti chiedo la gentilezza di darmi delle indicazioni (anche solo di aprire un'altra discussione) in quanto un po' complicata da cercare sui motori di ricerca.

Ora ho il desktop a caratteri piccolissimi, lo stesso vale per le diverse applicazioni; a questo si aggiunge che diverse delle funzionalità di Impostazioni di sistema non funzionano perchè mi dice che potrebbe essere rimasto qualche componente di controllo più vecchio.

Fatti che forse sono in relazione con l'effetto che ho descritto:

Poichè Kubuntu non mi riconosceva un disco esterno USB ntfs (premetto che ho ntfs-3g installato e le chiavette USB me le riconosce) ho cercato documentazione e mentre lottavo con gli errori o i montaggi forzati ho visto che una delle anomalie era relativa ad HAL.
Da puro utente abituato a Win sono andato in Adept ed ho disinstallato HAL con l'obiettivo di reinstallarlo.

Questo è tutto ciò che ricordo.

Spero tu possa indicarmi qualche utile riferimento, oppure dato che sono agli inizi e che ho pochi documenti potrei rifare l'installazione.
