MATSHITA DVD-RA UJ-831S

Salve a tutti.
Ho un PC toshiba M40 con un masterizzatore MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-831S, da un pò di tempo non riesco a leggere i CD, mi spiego meglio:
Masterizza CD (non RW), ma poi non è in grado di leggerli, neppure se masterizzati da altri PC, altri lettore di CD li leggono senza problemi.
Questo problema non si verifica per CD RW; DVD; CD musicali, che invece vengono letti senza problemi.
Il firmware è già aggiornato all'ultima versione, sistema operativo Windows XP Home. Ho già utilizzato diversi software di masterizzazione e vari tipi si supperti ma il problema resta.
Sapreste darmi qualche altra dritta?

E' diabolico questo masterizzatore: son dieci giorni che lotto nel tentativo di farlo funzionare.
MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-831S installato da qualcuno, non da me, su un portatile che devo urgentemente mettere in condizioni di efficienza.
Sembra avere i suoi driver (almeno il pc dice che ce li ha), ma è come se non ci fossero.
Non riesce a leggere nulla, figuriamoci a masterizzare . . . !!
A questo capolavoro della tecnica (UJ, eccetera . . . ) sono dedicate on line pagine e pagine, in tutte le lingue, e tutti sembrano avere gli stessi problemi.
Alcune istruzioni ricorrono spesso in questi forum, le ricopio qui in inglese perché quelle in italiano le ho perse:

ok after hours and hours of searching i found this:
1. Go to the Start Menu, then click on Run...

2. Type in "regedit" and hit the Enter key or click the OK button.

3. Once the Registry Editor is up, navigate through the folders at the left (by clicking the "+" signs) until you get down to this location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

4. Click on that Explorer folder/key. In the right side of the registry editor you should have an entry/value called NoCDBurning. Double-click that name.

5. In the window that opens you will see a place for "Value data." A 1 here enables NoCDBurning, meaning you will have NO CD burning. This will definitely stop you from being able to use your CD-RW drive to write. So if you have a 1 here (as I did) then this may be your problem. Replace the 1 with a 0 to disable NoCDBurning, thereby enabling CD Burning. (Sheesh! Did Microsoft really have to go about this backwards?) Click on OK.

6. Close the Registry Editor and Restart your computer

i have done this and i now have the recording tab in the properties of the drive
but now when i try to burn a data or a music cd it starts burning fine but aborts a couple of minutes later



Ho provato a seguire le istruzioni, ma a un certo punto mi dicono di agire su righe che NON CI SONO.

Sono quasi sul punto di buttare giu' tutto il pc, da una finestra del secondo piano.
C'è tra voi un'anima pia che m'impedirà di far precipitare questo aggeggio in una via del centro di Roma ??

Se non erro dovrebbe esserci un thread su questo masterizzatore,prova a cercare.
