GF 8700, Nvidia Control Panel, Riva Tuner...

Ciao a tutti!

Ho un portatile Toshiba Satellite X200-208 con scheda video Nvidia GF8700 con 512 MB di memoria. Il driver è l'ultimo disponibile, uscito in novembre. Purtroppo, non riesco a configurare i settaggi e a farli funzionare: il control panel c'è, apparentemente va tutto bene, ma in realtà solo qualcuno dei suoi settaggi funziona veramente, la maggior parte non provoca alcun cambiamento. Ho provato a usare il programma esterno Riva Tuner, ma senza successo: d'altra parte, lo stesso RT mi avvisa all'avvio che il programma non è ottimizzato per i driver che ho (è l'ultima versione, quindi ipotizzo che non esista una versione adatta). Qualcuno ha idee su come tentare di risolvere il problema?

Sto scaricando adesso uno di questi driver. Però... ho sempre avuto timore a usare i driver non ufficiali. Ci sono rischi particolari? E se succede qualcosa posso tornare indietro facilmente o mi tocca reinstallare tutto??

non so per quelli che stai scaricando tu, ma io dallo stesso sito ho scaricato dei driver "non ufficiali" per la 8600.

Per non ufficiali, almeno per quelli che ho scaricato io si intende che vengono eleminate le protezioni presenti sui driver scaricati dal sito ufficiale Nvidia.

nel mio caso infatti, settimana scorsa sono usciti i driver per xp per la mia scheda. sono andato sul sito ufficiale Nvidia, scarico i driver e mi dice che non possono essere installati perchè l'hardware non è compatibile.....pensa te....li fanno ma non puoi installarli.

Poi sono andato sul sito laptop2go.....e ho scaricato gli stessi driver ma con un file INF "rielaborato"....come per magia, non solo adesso ho i driver per xp, finora non installabili, ma riesco ad avere tutti i controlli sulla scheda video che prima non avevo, ovvero Nvidia control panel, che prima non esisteva, nonostante i driver fossero quelli ufficiali....

in caso di problemi disinstalla i driver completamente dal pannello di controllo, non ti preoccupare, appena accendi windows, ti viene riconosciuta la scheda video, che continuerà a funzionare tranquillamente, a quel punto magari ci metti i driver che avevi prima....

Non so se sia lo stesso caso mio... io se vado sul sito Nvidia e cerco un driver per la mia scheda (8700 GT) mi dice che non ne esiste neanche uno :doh:

Ho appena installato gli ultimi, 167.45, ma non è servito a nulla... tutto come prima. Il control panel di Nvidia non obbedisce agli ordini :(

io non lo avevo fatto e quando ho messo i nuovi si è sputtanato tutto, tipo che la risoluzione non andava oltre il 640x480 a 16 bit.....

poi ho disinstallato completamente la scheda video, quindi anche tutti i driver, ho messo quelli moddati e ora va tutto bene.

certo i crash con i giochi continua a farli, ma almeno ora ci gioco per una buona oretta senza problemi, mentre prima ogni 10 minuti saltava tutto...

Io ho seguito la procedura descritta sul sito, che non contempla alcuna disinstallazione. Comunque mi funziona tutto come prima, nessun problema con la gestione della risoluzione o dei bit...

poi ho disinstallato completamente la scheda video, quindi anche tutti i driver, ho messo quelli moddati e ora va tutto bene.

certo i crash con i giochi continua a farli, ma almeno ora ci gioco per una buona oretta senza problemi, mentre prima ogni 10 minuti saltava tutto...

Io non ho mai avuto problemi di crash, il mio unico problema è che i settaggi che indico non vengono applicati :)
