Saluto a tutti
Mi dispiace, ma no scrivo o parlo italiano, anche sono portoghese. Ma io capisco un po', potete rispondere in italiano. Ho davvero bisogno di aiuto...
My father owns a Samsung rear projection TV, model SP-43Q1HE. A few months ago he noticed the image was not satisfying as before, so he ordered some repairing service from two different Samsung-authorized repair shops here in Portugal. One of the shops insisted there was nothing wrong with it, telling him it was not a quality TV (just because it's not a Plasma?!) and the image couldn't be further optimized. The other shop accepted the request and only did maintenance work (cleaning lenses and such), but to my father's dismay it came back home even worse than before. As he was desperate and noone would help him, he took the irresponsible step to mess with the service menu and used the RESET function. Of course, now the tv doesn't work. There's only sound, no image.
I guess he will need the factory settings now. The warranty period is over and the repair shop won't provide him the factory settings. They insist they have to take the tv to the shop for service, and that would cost a lot. Is it really necessary to service the tv parts inside, or are the service menu settings enough?
Does anyone know where to get a service manual with the factory settings? Or maybe we should just forget about it and let the pro's deal with it? I mean, can it get worse than it is, if we get the factory settings and do it ourselves?
Grazie mille!
Israel
