View Full Version : Are crt's better for gaming ?
not much about a monitor makes overclockers excited ill admit , the only thing that i look at when buying one is size and connections and maybe response times but one of the things that confuses me is gamers that still use there old heavy crt monitor because they say tft's cant compete ....the idea behind it is that apparently the colours and lines will be much sharper and more defined on a crt ....personally i dont belive it but who knows im wrong 99% of the time can anyone here tell me the truth of the matter ? what do you guys think..and alos what do you use crt or tft.

I'm a gamer and i use a AL1916W Acer, a LCD, and i prefer it to my old crt, it is by far better, it is brighter and the trails effect is virtually invisible...so no, crt aren't better for gaming :D
IMHO a good CRT is still better than LCD cuz there is no response time problem, there is no ghosting, bleeding, tearing, no viewing angles problems.
You can use it form 640x480 to 1600x1200 ( or max res ) and have the same quality. And dont' forget the bad pixel problem. Even if you buy an expensive NEC you can have problem... read this forum.
CRT It's heavy ? who cares ! I don't have to go around with my CRT on my shoulder.
My 2 cents
