Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. (SiS), a leading core logic and graphics supplier, and Rambus Inc. (Nasdaq:RMBS), the leading provider of high speed chip connections, today announced an expansion of the original RDRAM licensing agreement between the companies. SiS expanded their license with Rambus to include the current generation of RDRAM technology, known as Direct RDRAMTM, which allows SiS to integrate RDRAM intellectual property into future products for PCs, networking and communications applications. "This agreement with SiS underlines the importance of the Taiwan market as providers of RDRAM memory systems," stated Frank Fox, Vice President and General Manager of Rambus Inc. "Best of class desktop PCs and workstations use RDRAM memory to achieve the highest levels of performance. As these systems penetrate into the mainstream market, SiS will be well positioned to offer pure performance solutions based on RDRAM memory technology.”
