[Ubuntu] Schermata bianca & puntatore all'avvio

il problema è quello del titolo, avvio Ubuntu, metto i miei dati, effettuo l'accesso e schermata bianca con puntatore...

qualcuno mi sa spiegare come poter risolvere il problema?

tutto ciò è successo poichè ho cambiato la mia vecchia radeon 9200 con una nuova x1650pro, e ho formattato e reinstallato linux...
