STOP: C0000221 UNKNOW HARD ERROR

Sto cercando di installare Win Xp sul nuovo HD che ho acquistato.

Avvio il PC, si carica il cd, inizia la copia dei files, ma al momento di passare alla seconda fase si blocca tutto e compare questo messaggio:

STOP: C0000221 UNKNOW HARD ERROR
\SYSTEMROOT\SYSTEM32\NTDLL.DLL


L'HD é un Seagate IDE da 160GB

Ho cercato su Google e ho trovato che si tratta di un problema conosciuto (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314474) e facilmente risolvibile nel caso il SO sia installato. Il mio problema però é che non avendo il SO installato non so come procedere.

Da quanto dice MS il problema nasce dal fatto che il file risulta danneggiato... se il problema si verifica solamente con il disco nuovo proverei a controllarlo con le apposite utility (fai una ricerca nella sezione periferiche di memorizzazione a tal riguardo); altrimenti potrebbe essere il CD di WinXP danneggiato.

configuration, you should look in Device Manager under the following headings:

+IDE ATA\ATAPI controllers

+DVD CD-ROM drives

+System devices
Direct memory access controller

Reset the BIOS to its defaults.

Clear the CMOS settings.

Run a hard drive test.

Run a memory test.

Check for the installation CD\DVD disc integrity.
