Qualcuno mi aiuti (VAIO SZ)

Ciao a tutti.

Sono nuovo in questo Forum ed ho bisogno del vostro aiuto.

Due settimane fa trovandomi a Pechino per vacanza ho comprato (l'ultimo giorno) un Sony Vaio VGN-SZ55/B.
Ovviamente essendo questo corredato di Windows Vista in cinese ho chiesto al tizio del negozio di istallarmi il Windows XP (l'unica lingua disponibile era in inglese).
Scopro poi che alcune funzioni tipo i tasti S1 e S2, la funzione STAMINA, la web cam etc. sono state annullate.
Decido quindi di fare una ricerca in internet (sul sito della Sony) per fare una sorta de restore alla macchina però in lingua italiana e scopro che questo modello è in vendita solo nei paesi orientali (di cui ovviamente non conosco una lettera), insomma morale della favola non so come fare. Avevo anche pensato di fare il restore utilizzando i programmi di un altro Vaio della serie SZ che avesse le stesse caratteristiche del mio ma ho scoperto che tutti i modelli (almeno quelli europei) montano un processore Intel 945 mentre il mio è 965.
Che posso fare?? C'è qualcuno che può aiutarmi?
Il mio ha un processore T7100 (1,80 Ghz), una scheda NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS GPU e un HDD di 120 Gb.

dovrebbe andar bene il ripristino da un vaio qualsiasi SE il resto dell'hardware è lo stesso.
infatti il driver del bus deve essere sempre intel.

Hai bisogno dei driver di XP per quella macchina, ma difficilmente li troverai.

ciao, si mi riferivo a SZ qualsiasi se il resto dell'hardware è lo stesso.... (e chipset sempre intel)

ma se l'SZ4 ha chipset intel (e cpu ovvio intel) e il resto dell'hardware è uguale, il gentilissimo utente brontolo68 ti ha servito i drivers su un piatto d'argento ;)

L'hardware del SZ4 e del SZ5 è sostanzialmente lo stesso.
Se, come afferma chilango, il chipset è un 965, qui http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2800&OSFullName=Windows*+XP+Professional&lang=ita&strOSs=44&submit=Vai%21 ci sono i driver necessari.

Ti ringrazio per il link che mi hai mandato, sei stato molto gentile, sembra che davvero faccia al mio caso.
Ti volevo chiedere un aiuto però:

ho scaricato il CD e sto leggendo le istruzioni (che sono in inglese) correggimi se ho capito bene. Il CD contiene solo i drivers nel senso che il CD del sistema operativo Windows XP SP2, non è incluso vero? Lo devo procurare io.

Non riesco poi a capire a cosa si riferisce al punto “d” delle seguenti note:

a. the Vaio is set on Stamina mode, by moving the switch above the keyboard to Stamina
b. the Wireless switch above the keyboard is switched on.

Se ho capito bene mi dice di istallarli uno ad uno, vero? Insomma tutti? Ma poi che cosa sono gli hotfixes?

Inoltre:
Il negoziante che mi ha istallato il Windows XP in inglese (li a Pechino) ha creato 4 partizioni (C, D, E, F) delle quali la C (15Gb) mi dice che ha il File Systems FAT32 mentre le altre D (30Gb) , E (30Gb), F (40Gb) il File System è NTFS. Che devo fare di queste partizioni, le devo cancellare?? In che modo?? Forse è meglio averne solo 2 o al massimo 3? E devono essere FAT32 oppre NTFS? In assoluto le partizioni è meglio che siano NTFS perché più affidabili.
Il fatto che tu abbia 4 partizioni non è un grosso problema, purché tu le utilizzi a dovere.
Io, ad esempio, ne ho 3: una per vista, una per XP e una per i dati.
Se vuoi eliminarle o unirle puoi usare Gparted live CD (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php). Dopo averlo scaricato e masterizzato, avvi il pc con il CD dentro e poi agisci sulle partizioni.
Attenzione, però, che l'operazione è delicata.
Comunque, avendo vista in cinese e XP in inglese, puoi sempre eliminare tutte le partizioni, procurarti un CD di XP in italiano e installare il s.o. facendo il boot dal CD.
Tiene anche conto che un altro problema è dato dal fatto che XP non ha in driver SATA per riconoscere l'hard disk. Per risolvere, segui queste indicazioni:
Problema driver SATA per riconoscimento hard disk durante installazione di XP.
Occorre:
* CD originale Windows XP;
* codice valido originale;
* driver del controller dei dischi S-ATA nella fattispecie;
* nlite rc2, scaricabile da http://www.nliteos.com/;

nlite permette di personalizzare la copia di windows xp, aggiungendo i drivers SATA!

Come procedere:
1)installiamo nlite;
2)creiamo un cartella (per esempio) winXP;
3)inseriamo il cd di xp e con sfoglia puntiamo alla periferica dove è il nostro disco di xp!
4)ora ci verrà chiesto dove salvare la copia, puntiamo alla cartella winXP creata in precedenza!
5)terminata la copia, premere avanti, nella finestra configurazioni premere avanti senza spuntare nulla;
6)nella finestra seleziona le opzioni, selezionate “driver” e “iso avviabile”, premere avanti;
7)nella finestra driver, click su inserisci e nel menu a tendina click su cartella driver multipli;
8)ora puntate alla cartella dove sono i driver sata (ovvero sul cd o sulla chiavetta usb, come detto sopra al punto b);
9)clikkate su tutto, si evidenzia la nostra cartella, premere ok!(i driver devono essere “driver text mode” e selezionateli tutti (come suggerito con la pressione di ctrl e click su ogni file), evidenziati tutti i driver, click su avanti;
10)Alla domanda “avviare il processo?”, rispondere si e al termine, click su avanti;
11)ora selezionate masterizza al volo e avviate la masterizzazione.

E' saltata una parte della risposta:
nel link che ti ho dato, ovviamente ;) XP non c'è... dovrai procurartelo tu.
Puoi usare però i driver per fare riconoscere le periferiche all'interno del tuo XP in inglese.

Al punto d):
1) Assicurati che:
a. il Vaio sia in "Stamina mode", azionando lo switch sopra la tastiera verso l'indicazione "Stamina". Sopra la tastiera ci sono due tasti S e due switch: il primo ti permette di mettere il notebook in stamina mode, cioè al massimo risparmio energetico, utilizzando la scheda video intel integrata, anziché la geforce dedicata. Il secondo switch aziona il wireless (wifi e bluetooth)
b. lo switch Wireless switch sopra la tastiera sia attivo, spostandolo a destra.
c. il computer sia connesso alla corrente
d. non vi sia periferiche connesse o installate quando avvii l'installazione di XP.
Questa è la condizione iniziale per l'installazione del sistema operativo o dei driver.
I driver devono essere installati uno a uno, riavviando il pc ogni volta che viene richiesto.
Gli hotfix sono correzioni che microsoft pubblica per migliorare windows.

Ti metto (purtoppo sempre in inglese), le istruzioni che si trovano sul sito sony:

Note :
After the complete installation following the below instructions you will see in My computer a SD/MMC icon. This is due to the fact that the Memory stick duo controller can also control a SD/MMC card. This slot is however not installed in our unit. During the Windows installation however it is detected and installed. Please ignore this icon since it has no function.

1) Make sure that :
a. the Vaio is set on Stamina mode, by moving the switch above the keyboard to Stamina (by default it is set to Speed mode)
b. the Wireless switch above the keyboard is switched on.
c. The unit is connected on AC power
d. No 3rd party hardware is connected / installed on the unit when starting this process.

2) Install Windows XP Professional with SP2
! Important note :
a. In case you still would like to recover using F10 from the hard disk to the original Vista preinstalled operating system, please leave the recovery partition in tact.
b. In case you would like to free up some space and remove the recovery partition, please make sure to first create a set of recovery discs using the Recovery wizard in your Vista preinstalled installation.
c. We recommend to quick format the partition you wish to install Windows XP on to avoid conflicts with the preinstalled OS.

3) When the windows XP setup is complete enter windows and go to the downloaded Utilities folder
Install the utilities in the correct order. Starting with Utilities folder 1
a. When during the setup the system asks to reboot, please do so and continue with the next folder when back in windows.
b. When installing the Vaio Event Service, please select the typical install

4) When the utilities are reinstalled exit the applications folder and open the downloaded Drivers folder. Then open the Chipset folder to run the setup. When the setup is completed, press finish to restart the PC

5) Audio driver installation :
a. After the reboot, open the Drivers folder, then the audio folder, open folder 1 and run the “KB835221 – Audio hotfix” file and follow the install instructions.
b. 2 Found new hardware dialogs will pop up. Press cancel on these screens
c. Press finish on the KB835221 setup wizard screen
d. Go back out of folder 1 and open folder 2
e. Run the setup file in this folder. Follow the on-screen instructions.

6) Bluetooth installation :
a. Exit the Folder 2 and the Audio subfolder and open the Bluetooth folder
b. Run the setup program. Follow the on-screen instructions
c. Reboot the PC when requested at the end of the installation

7) A Found new hardware dialog will appear after the reboot (Modem installation).
a. Select No, not this time and press next
b. It will want to install a Modem device. Select “Install from a list of specific location” and press next
c. Select “Search for the best driver in these locations”
d. Deselect “Search removable media”
e. Select “include this location in the search”. Press on browse and browse to the modem folder in the Drivers folder and press OK
f. Click on next to continue
g. A Pop-up will appear, please press on “Continue Anyway”
h. Press on Finish to complete the installation


8) Graphics installation :
a. Since we are in Stamina mode we will first install the Intel Graphics driver:
i. Go to Start > Control Panel
ii. Select Switch to classic view
iii. Double click on “System”
iv. Click on the tab Hardware and press on Device manager
v. In the List with ? Other devices, right-click on the Video Controller (VGA compatible) and select update driver
vi. Select “No, Not this time” and press Next
vii. Select “Install from a list or specific location” and press Next
viii. Deselect “Search removable media”
ix. Select “include this location in the search”. Press on browse and browse to the Drivers folder and then to the Video1 folder and press OK
x. Press Next
xi. The screen can flash a couple of times during the installation, this is normal Press Finish at the end of the install

b. Now switch the Stamina/Speed switch above the keyboard to Speed. Select restart now to switch to speed mode.

c. When windows has restarted a Found new hardware wizard will pop-up.
i. Select “No, Not this time” and press Next
ii. Select “Install from a list or specific location” and press Next
iii. Deselect “Search removable media”
iv. Select “include this location in the search”. Press on browse and browse to the Drivers folder and then to the Video2 folder and press OK
v. Press Next
vi. The screen can flash a couple of times during the installation, this is normal Press Finish at the end of the install
d. When this is finished another Found new hardware pop-up windows can appear.
i. Select “Yes, this time only” and press Next
ii. Select “Install the software automatically” and press Next
iii. Press Finish then the installation is complete.
e. Windows will prompt you to restart the system, please press Yes to restart

9) Wireless LAN drivers installation:
a. Browse to the folder Drivers and then open the WirelessLAN folder
b. Double click the to start the setup
c. Select Install Software
d. Select, after licence Agreement, “Typical” and press Next
e. Press Ok when the install is completed
f. Press Ok and restart the PC.

Other drivers installations :

Open the Device manager :
g. Go to Start > Control Panel
h. Double click on “System”
i. Click on the Hardware tab and click on “Device Manager”

10) Camera driver installation :
a. Click on the + before Imaging devices
b. Right click on “USB Video Device” and select Update driver
c. Select in the Wizard “No, not this time” and press Next
d. Select “Install from a list or a specific location” and press Next
e. Select “Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install” and press Next
f. Press on “Have Disk…”
g. Browse to the folder Drivers and then Camera and press Open
h. Click on next and select “Continue Anyway” on the warning screen
i. Press Finish when done.


11) Network controller driver installation:
a. Right click on the Ethernet Controller item under Other devices and select Update driver
b. Select “No, not this time” and press Next
c. Select “Install from a specific location” and press Next
d. Click on Browse and browse to the Drivers folder and select there the Network folder and press Ok
e. Click on Next
f. Click on Finish when done


12) Mass Storage controller (Memorystick):
a. Right click on the Mass Storage Controller item under Other devices and select Update driver
b. Select “No, not this time” and press Next
c. Select “Install from a specific location” and press Next
d. Click on Browse and browse to the Drivers folder and select there the FlashMedia folder and press Ok
e. Click on Next
f. Click on Finish when done
g. Restart the PC

13) Memory stick Icon installation
a. Browse to the folder Drivers and then Memorystick Icon on the XP drivers disc
b. Run the setup in the folder

14) Touchpad driver :
a. Go to Start > Control Panel
b. Double click on “System”
c. Click on the Hardware tab and click on “Device Manager”
d. Click on the + before Mice and other pointing devices
e. Right click on the PS/2 Compatible mouse item and select Update driver
f. Select “No, not this time” and press Next
g. Select “Install from a specific location” and press Next
h. Click on Browse and browse to the Drivers folder and select there the Pointing folder and press Ok
i. Click on Next
j. Click on Finish when done
k. Restart the PC


15) Notebook control driver installation :
a. Go to Start > Control Panel
b. Double click on “System”
c. Click on the Hardware tab and click on “Device Manager”
d. Click on the + before Human interface devices
e. Right click on “Sony Notebook Interface Device” and select Update driver
f. Select in the Wizard “No, not this time” and press Next
g. Select “Install from a list or a specific location” and press Next
h. Select “Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install” and press Next
i. Press on “Have Disk…”
j. Browse to the folder Drivers and then SonyNC and press Open
k. Click on the file SonyNC and press Open
l. Click on OK
m. Press Finish and reboot the PC when done.

16) Sony i/o control driver installation :
a. Go to Start > Control Panel
b. Double click on “System”
c. Click on the Hardware tab and click on “Device Manager”
d. Click on the + before Human interface devices
e. Right click on “Sony Programmable I/O control device” and select Update driver
f. Select in the Wizard “No, not this time” and press Next
g. Select “Install from a list or a specific location” and press Next
h. Select “Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install” and press Next
i. Press on “Have Disk…”
j. Browse to the folder Drivers and then SonyPI and press Open
k. Click on the file SonyPI and press Open
l. Click on OK

17) TPM module installation
Note: Only applicable in case you did not install the optional TMP utility
a. Right click on the Unknown device item under Other devices and select Update driver
b. Select “No, not this time” and press Next
c. Select “Install from a specific location” and press Next
d. Click on Browse and browse to the Drivers folder and select there the TPM folder and press Ok
e. Click on Next
f. Click on Finish when done

18) For units delivered with a WAN card
! Important note :
Before you insert the card, please follow first the below software installation instructions.

Click on your country to be directed to the local bundled provider to get there latest WAN connection manager.
i. United Kingdom (click on the link Software herunterladen )
ii. Germany
iii. Austria
iv. France (Select the Novatel XU870 as WAN card.)

This completes the XP downgrade setup.

wow brontolo68 sei stato gentilissimo, ho copiato la tua risposta e seguiro' tutto passo passo. Sicuro ti chiedero' altre cose, approfittero' della tua gentilezza (e di tutti coloro che vorranno aiutarmi).
A proposito ma devo installare tutti gli hotfixes? Perche' ne sono tanti, che faccio l'installo tutti??

Scusa se non mi sono fatto vivo, ma sono stato fuori per più di 1 mese e solo oggi (finalmente) ho installato i drivers per il mio Sony Vaio SZ55 seguendo tutti i passi che tu mi mandasti.
Senti qua ho dei problemi, non riesco a installare il Modem, la Scheda Video e la Web Cam (quella incorporata con il Sony Vaio), mi puoi aiutare? Seguo tutti i passi però mi dice che non trova il file per la installazione. Ti ricordo che siccome il PC ha la funzione STAMINA da quanto ho capito ci sono due schede video, quella VGA compatibile e quella della Geforce (sempre se ho capito bene).
Nelle informazioni che tu mi mandasti al punto 11 parla anche di Ethernet Controller ma non ho capito dove trovo questo DEVICE, inoltre poi quando spengo il PC la voce STANDBY non compare.
Mi puoi aiutare??
Non ho ancora installato gli Hotfix che sono nel folder, potrebbe essere questa la soluzione?
