livello inchiostro epson d68

allora sono andato a vedere qui :

e ho installato quello che c'è scritto di installare, in seguito accedo come root, accendo la stampante e digito

ink -p usb

e ottengo questo messaggio:

che cosa vuol dire? mi paicerebbe sapere comunque come funziona questa utility, però se ne avete un'altra da consigliarmi va bene lo stesso.

sto cercando di fare qualche ricerca da solo; ho scoperto che ink non è l'unico tool per controllare il livello di inchiostro:

qui vengono citati almeno altri tre tool per ambiente gnome, il problema è che ognuno di essi mi dà errori :)

innanzitutto da synaptic mi da la versione di libinklevel 0.6.6.rc6 che è una test relase... perchè non mi dà la 0.7.0 che è stabile?? cmq ho scaricato il codice sorgente e quando uso make mi da questo responso...

e io non so proprio che pesci pigliare perchè purtroppo sono ancora troppo inesperto. Quindi ho provato a installare da synaptic la test relase di questa libreria. COme ho scritto nel primo post ink non funziona, allora ho provato a installare prima "inkblot" e poi "gmso" (entrambi reperibili al link soprascritto)

inkblot quando faccio ./configure mi dice che devo avere libinklevel almeno versione 0.7.0 :muro:

scusate mi ero dimenticato, ho trovato anche questo:

sono riuscito ad installare escputil, ma quando dò il comando escputil -i (comando che serve appunto per visualizzare l'inchiostro) mi da questo:

ok ragazzi sono risucito a far funzionare il tutto con mtink, però comunque mi interesserebbe sapere che problemi c'erano con gli altri programmi

Ho il tuo stesso problema con escputil. Mi chiede di usare un "raw device" e non so cosa sbaglio.. stampante epson stylus photo 830u usb installata con cups e driver gutenprint. Il fatto è che io non ho un'interfaccia grafica (lavoro da remoto via riga di comando) e quindi non posso usare altri tools..
In passato con debian, la stessa stampante, gli stessi drivers ma sistema di stampa lprng funzionava. Con ubuntu+cups sulla stessa macchina no.. qualcuno ha idee?
Devo monitorare i livelli di inchiostro per sapere quale cartuccia cambiare!!
