Ciao

Ho il seguente problema. Su kubuntu 7.04 funziona tutto egregiamente, ma non la risoluzione video.

Con le precedenti kubuntu funzionava tutto bene, ma ora non so perchè questo non succede più.

Praticamente come monitor imposto un generico 1280x1024@60hz.

Se poi nella configurazione imposto 1280x1024 il monitor lavora sempre a 640x480, ma se sposto il mouose ai bordi, l'iimagine si sposta (praticamente l'immagine è a 1280x1024, ma visualizzata a 640x480). Così se ne vede una parte solo e per vedere tutto devo spostare il mouse ai bordi così si sposta l'immagine. Come faccio ad avere un immagine normale? Tra l'altro ogni volta che resetto viene reimpostato tutto a 640x480. Come cavolo si risolve? AH ovviamanete il monitor non supporta funzioni simile, è linux che fa sto casino

per primo
metti il refresh orizzontale e verticale supportati dal tuo monitor su settaggio viedeo,

meglio se gli indichi marca e modello del monitor.
riavvia.

setta risoluzione voluta
riavvia
installa drivers video se vuoi.
riavvia
ri regola la risoluzione
e
riavvia

adesso nn i sono santi così deve andare.




io ho risolto così.

nella esatta sequenza.

niente da fare.

Non funziona, quando sembra accettare 1280x1024 lampeggia il caps lock e il block scor sulla tastiera. E pensare che stavo per fare una donazione di 10 euro per avermi spedito a casa il cd gratuitamente. Se bisogna lavorare in una maniera così ridicola per fare semplicemente funzionare una risoluzione capisco benissimo perchè i cd li regalino e non li vendano

mbhò... io con quel problema ho risolto dandogli prima il refresh orizzontale e vertiacale e poi tutta la sequenza che t'ho detto.

apri il pannello impostazioni video nel menu impostazioni
diventi amministratore.

nelle varie schede c'è la possibilità di indicare marca e modello del monitor.
se il tuo non è presente puoi indicare comunque a mano il refresh verticale e orizzontale.

fatto questo salvi, spegni e riavvii
setti la risoluzione esci e riavvii
installi i driver e riavvii
reimposti la risoluzione.


a me così ha funzionato.

Cioè l'immagine effettivamente a 1280x1024, ma la visualizzazione a 640x480, e se sposto il cursore ai bordi del monitor l'immagine si sposta per fare vedere la parte mancante. Ma chi è il fesso che ha attivato una cosa simile?

Con i driver nv tutto bene, il problema si presenta solo con i driver proprietari nvidia.

Avevo un problema simile ma mettevo le frequenze di refresh sbagliate, ossia mettevo quelle che trovavo sul manuale del monitor e non ottenevo le risoluzioni di cui sapevo invece -il monitor- essere capace. Ho poi fatto una googleata e ho scoperto che in realtá le frequenze erano diverse, ho quindi modificato xorg.conf, riavviato il server grafico e tutto a posto.

I cd li regalano, peró il fatto che le risoluzioni dei monitor possano anche non andare bene al primo colpo non c'entra una fava.

mi puoi dire dove mettere nel .conf i valori delle frequenze? Perchè dal centro di controllo del monitor (insomma dove fa scegliere il monitor che hai non riesco a modificare le frequenze di refresh)

dopo aver installato i driver proprietari modifichi il file xorg.conf..
mi pare con "sudo nano -w xorg.conf"

scorri tutto il file finchè non trovi le varie risoluzioni e i vari bit di profondità..io ho messo la nativa del mio note 1440x900 in ognuno, dopo la 1024x768, la scrivi uguale alle altre con quella che vuoi tu, salvi il file esci riavvii e dovrebbe andare..anche a me una volta ha fatto così, si vedeva in 640x480 e il desktop era mobile, uno schifo indegno..installa i driver proprietari, li trovi anche in adept (nvidia-glx..almeno,:D quelli nvidia, ati non so perchè non l'ho mai cercata..)

mi puoi dire dove mettere nel .conf i valori delle frequenze? Perchè dal centro di controllo del monitor (insomma dove fa scegliere il monitor che hai non riesco a modificare le frequenze di refresh)


- apri una shell
- sudo gedit (su kunbutu c'é gedit? sennó sudo + altro editor di testo presente in kubuntu)
- ti chiede la passwd
- dall'editor apri il file /etc/X11/xorg.conf
- scorri il testo fino alla sezione "monitor"
- cambi le frequenze di refresh (vedi il manuale del moniutor)
- salvi
- esci, stoppa e riavvia il server grafico oppure riavvia il pc...

Schermo nero al momento del login (non vedo la schermata di login si blocca subito prima) e led della tastiera (del caps lock e del scroll locck che lampeggiano) Cos' è questa cosa?

per vedere configurazioni di xorg.conf funzionanti per la tua scheda grafica o simili, poi dovresti solo mettere i valori giusti di refresh del monitor.

Secondo me hai fatto qualche errore in xorg.conf e ora non parte piú il server grafico. Ripristina da console il backup del file (l'hai fatto vero?) oppure modifica di nuovo seguendo uno degli schemi del sito che ti ho segnalato...

Mi sembra perfetto, ma sempre quando selgo 1280x1024, o mi mette il monitor a 640x480 facendo scorrere l'immagine quando tocco i bordi, oppure si mettono a lampeggiare il CAPS LOCK e il BLOCK SCORR. Ho anche preso il vecchio xorg.conf della 6.10 (che funzionava egregiamente) e l'ho messo in questa (7.04). Sempre lo stesso errore.

Ho anche provato a fare dkpg reconfigurexorg (non ricordo il nome esatto), e ho seguito la procedura guidata, e ho semrpe gli stessi problemi. Qui penso si tratti proprio di un bel BUG. Ho visto in internet infatti che non sono il solo ad avere questi problemi con i driver prpietari nvidia.

Comunque puoi allegare il file "Xorg.O.log"? Dovrebbe stare in /var/log

o quello che dice il manuale del monitor e sostituire la frequenza (60) con quella indicata dal manuale ?

ed in "Section "Monitor" lasciare solo quella che vuoi usare.

Cioè, in sostanza, eliminare tutte le frequenze e lasciare solo quella che vuoi usare ?

ok è sicuramente un bug. Ho provato anche con envy e anche con lui ho sempre lo stesso problema. Ho reinstallato kubuntu per la 3a volta in 2 giorni e anche con il sistema pulito ho sempre quell'errore. A questo punto non sono io.

Beh la parentesi linux è durata 1 anno, ma ora torno a windows, perchè è impossibile nel 2007 dovere smanettare così tanto per cambiare la risoluzione. Mi dispiace perchè mi trovavo meglio con kubntu che con windows, ma ho bisogno di un pc funzionante e non posso perdere troppo tempo in queste cose quando al 99% si tratta di un bug. Grazie a tutti

Dal log mi risulta che non stai utilizzando i driver ufficiali "nvidia-glx" ma i driver di default "nv", penso sia questo il problema. Hai installato i driver "nvidia-glx" dal repository ufficiale?

Qui carica il modulo "nv" invece che "nvidia" come nel mio caso:
(II) LoadModule: "nvidia"

In tutto il resto del log ci sono errori che a me non escono proprio perchè il driver installato risulta "nv".

Se hai installato i driver "nvidia-glx" mi sembra che devi attivarli, in Kubuntu mi pare c'è un opzione in centro di controllo > display che ti fa scegliere il driver nvidia da utilizzare, evidentemente c'è selezionato l' "nv" invece di "nvidia".
Se invece c'è "nvidia" allora prova a reinstallare i driver "nvidia-glx".

non so come ho risolto. Penso alla fine sia stato envy da linea di comando. Boh non ne ho idea, comunque ora funziona bene tutto e non mi azzardo più a toccare quei settaggi. Ringrazio tutti per l'aiuto che mi hanno dato. Almeno così non torno a windows. Ciao e grazie ancora

incredibilmente questo problema si presenta ancora. Ho anche installato ubuntu al posto di kubuntu, ma non cambia niente. Ho chiesto aiuto in altri forum, e tutti molto gentili non sono riusciti a trovare il problema. Così disperato ho collegato il monitor in DVI, e sorpresa..... FUNZIONA EGREGIAMENTE. Dal momento che in windows funziona anche in DVI il problema è quindi di ubuntu o nvidia-glx, e non del monitor (andava anche con il precedente ubuntu benissimo).

Scrivo questo nel caso qualcuno incappi in questo fastidiosissimo problema)
