Drivers non disponibili

Ciao!

Avrei una domanda un pò niubba: ma se per una periferica che uno ha avuto la sfiga di comprare nel 2005 (tipo una multifunzione Lexmark x5250), sul sito del produttore così come in rete non esistono i drivers per linux (ho cercato come un disperato e non ho trovato nulla), non resta che aspettare che li sviluppino, farlo da soli o buttare la stampante?:D

C'è per caso qualche sfortunato possessore della stampante in questione che ne sa qualcosa? Mi secca stampare entrando in winzozz, è l'unico motivo per cui tengo ancora xp!:muro: :muro: :muro: :muro:

mi dispiace dirtelo ma sul web non sto trovando nulla nemmeno io, e openprinting non ci da molte speranze, infatti leggi qui (http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Lexmark-x5250) :(

x5250llpddk-2.0-3.i386.rpm is the down load you want to get your printer up and running...
http://forum.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=107354&highlight=z611 is the walk through to get the lexmark installed... if you get that far and don't have nething printing but you fc6 can find your printer its your libstdc++.so.5 that needs to be reinstalled so.6 is what installs with fc6.. do a search on here for it and down load that file followed up with a yum -y install "the lib". uhm...ora vado a dormire, domani vedo se posso dirti qualcos'altro ;)

:( Per quanto riguarda i drivers, mi sa che fisserò una data per il lancio della stampante....poi ne comprerò una che è supportata....o terrò xp e vista solo per stampare....:( :muro:

In quanto alle distro che utilizzo, il discorso è un pò complicato, perchè sul pc ne ho 9 (!) e uso soprattutto arch, frugalware e ubuntu -feisty-, mentre sul portatile che ho appena acquistato, un acer aspire 9304wsmi, turion 64 x2 TL56, sto ancora facendo esperimenti, tenendo hastalavista. Per dire, ora ho messo una mandriva one 2007, dato che riconosce quasi tutto al volo, però mi sa che piallo e vado giù di sabayon, anche se mi rompe aspettare la compilazione del software, visto che si tratta di una gentoo....:D :rolleyes:
