The story behind PS3’s Spider-Man font
A senior designer of the PS3 has claimed that Sony's Ken Kutaragi insited on use of the Spider-Man style font for the Official PS3 logo. Luckily Sony has all the rights required to use the Spider-Man font.

Teiyu Goto, one the main creative minds behind the design of the PlayStation 3, has admitted that SCE’s chairman and chief executive Ken Kuturagi was the driving force behind Sony’s use of the Spider-Man movie font for the PS3 logo.
In an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, Goto stated: “If you really look at the PS3 contour carefully, it is rounded when viewing the console in profile. Rather than creating a typography with all the risks that entails, it was wiser to use the one from Spider-Man, for which Sony has the rights.
E' stato Kutaragi ad insistere per l'utiizzo del font di Spiderman. Sony ne possiede i diritti.
L'utilizzo di questo sarebbe giustificato dalla forma "tonda" della console.
