Driver ATI X600 in Kubuntu 6.10 Aiutooo Please

Ciao, ragazzi visto che sono un po gnubbo con linux ho deciso di installare kubuntu 6.10 e devo dire che mi piace molto.. Appena avviato non ho avuto problemi se non fosse per la configurazione dei driver della mia ATI X600 che non riesco a installare e quindi sfruttare la grafica. C' e' qualcuno che mi puo elencare la procedura di installazione ? Ho gia fatto un giro su internet e anche sul sito dell` ex ormai ATI ma pur scaricando i loro driver nulla da fare.. Aiutatemi please, sono disperato :muro: ..

La X600 su fedora abilita il 3d con i driver del kernel.
Controlla che su ubuntu faccia lo stesso, dovrebbe.

ciao, praticamente quando apro la shell e digito il comando che mi hai indicato mi riporta il seguente messaggio :

Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
direct rendering: No

quindi penso che non sia abilitato. Cosa Faccio? grazie.

No, non c'è il direct rendering.... è un bel problema... non so che versione del driver radeon monti il tuo sistema, ma credo non nuovissima, e probabilmente i supporti sperimentali che sono attivati in fedora non lo sono in ubuntu.
in questa circostanze temo che, se controlli in xorg.conf se il driver "radeon" è effettivamente caricato, e lo è, sarai costretto ad installare fglrx.

dove c'è scritto "vesa" metti "radeon"... dovrebbe andare :)

ciao, grazie tante risolto adesso il video mi va molto meglio e riesco a scorrere le pagine del browser in maniera fluida.... Pero quando nella shell digito glxinfo | grep rendering mi risponde .. Direct rendering No ... che faccio per attivarlo ? grazie mille :)
