Rumor: EA to acquire 2K Sports

Those rarely useful analysts have speculated that EA may be interested in purchasing the 'unprofitable' 2K sports operation. EA is considered the most likely buyer because there are a limited number of firms wishing to go 'head to head' with EA in the sports genre.

Pachter also evaluated the chances of the company being acquired, broken up and sold in pieces, or being taken over by activist investors. While he described all three scenarios as "unlikely," he did suggest that the publisher's currently unprofitable 2K Sports operation might be an acquisition target for its fiercest rival, Electronic Arts. According to Pachter, EA is the most likely buyer for 2K Sports because few others would be willing to go head-to-head with the Madden NFL publisher in the sports genre.

non avrei mai detto che 2k fosse "unprofitable"..
comunque spero non li comprino anche perchè vorrei propri capire quanto costa a loro la licenza NFL esclusiva....

e se magari unificassero la grafica di nba live (e la fisionomia dei giocatori) con la giocabilità di nba 2k7? quella sarebbe una cosa interessante :sisi: basta che non rovinino ciò che finora di buono si era riusciti a raggiungere :D :D :D

anche io sono piuttosto spaventato da questa notizia,
ma se acquisiscono 2ksports....
acquisiscono anche il team che ha sviluppato 2k7,
quindi è dura che facciano comunque un gioco orrendo come nba live

comunque non credo che ciò avverrà...
T2 deve sopravvivere fino al prossimo autunno quando uscirà GTA IV...
quel gioco salverà le sorti del publisher...
conserate che è una loro IP quindi no royalty ecc...;)
