Controller pci-x su slot pci

Salve a tutti. Ho intenzione fra un pò di cambiare il mio controller pci raid che uso attualmente con qualcosina di più performante e che mi permetta di fare raid più sofisticati.

Ne ho visto uno decisamente interessante, il Promise supertrak ex8300, però nelle caratteristiche tecniche viene riportato il fatto che sia pci-x.

La mia mb è una Asus K8N, e ora la domanda: le prestazioni sarebbero di tanto penalizzate usando un controller pci-x su pci ????

Si, ma il transfer-rate sarà quello dello slot pci normale!

PCI-X was developed jointly by IBM, HP, and Compaq. PCI-X is a revision to the PCI standard that doubles the clock speed (from 66 MHz to 133 MHz) and hence the amount of data exchanged between the computer processor and peripherals. PCI-X improves the fault tolerance of PCI allowing, for example, faulty cards to be reinitialized or taken offline.

direi di si ma stai attento che anche i PCI hanno delle specifiche , guarda che la tua mobo abbia una revision superiore a quella del controller
