Edgy, compiz e amd64: HELP!!!

ieri mi ritrovo un dvd di ubuntu edgy x amd64... la installo, va tutto bene, però poi volevo mettere compiz con aixgl.
morale della favola? dai repo di ubuntu ottengo soltanto che avviando compiz nn mi parte il window decorator, invece installando i pacchetti compiz-freedesktop ottengo solo il crash del server grafico

la scheda video è una nvidia gf 6800, e questo è il mio xorg.conf:

sisi li ho installati, il prblema nn era lì, ma nel aftto che dovevo pescarmi da nn so quali repo un'altra versione di compiz, non mi ricordo neanche quale ho installato, che mi permettesse di far funzionare compiz, ora funziona tutto, apparte il fatto che x usarlo da VNC non funziona perchè nn supporta gli effetti grafici :(

in ogni caso adesso il problema è un altro: trovare cgwd... non riesco a trovarlo, e se lo trovo le sue dipendenze mi fanno disinstallare tutti i pacchetti di compiz... :(
