Salve a tutti,
My appologies in advance for not writing this in Italiano. I just relocated from Amsterdam and I am learning Italian as fast as I can. I am already very happy I managed to get an internet connection. However, I cannot establish a VPN connection. Somebody told me this could be due to my ISP (Fastweb) or the set up of the modem (pirelli). Anybody knows how to handle this?
Ciao,
C.

Ciao Charlemagne and welcome on hardware upgrade!
Unfortunately Fastweb is based on a LAN, so you are behind a router that provide you a NAT. As a result, you can't be able to use VPN port.
Edit: is this an incoming or outgoing connection?

It's an outgoing connection. Does that help?
IPSec, PPTP, L2TP are not supported with Fastweb, but you can try with UDP Encaspulation Mode for IPSec
A brilliant example of an UDP-based vpn client is hamachi (http://www.hamachi.cc/); hamachi is "a zero-configuration virtual private networking application with an open security architecture and NAT-to-NAT traversal capabilities."
With Hamachi you can establish a vpn network system up to 16 client (or more if you decide to pay for premium version) and bypass Fastweb NAT
