Acer ha annunciato la prossima disponibilità de nuovo masterizzatore Acer 1610A, meccanica con velocità di scrittura 16x e tecnologia Seamless Link.

In line with Acer's determination to hear what users want, the 1610A offers the Acer-developed Seamless Link technology. This is a sophisticated breakthrough that allows the CD-RW drive to store the RecEnd address, the point in the data to which the recording mechanism has progressed, and pause the recording before a buffer under run occurs. When the buffer is again full, a Seamless Link-enabled CD-RW drive locates the RecEnd address and resumes the recording process. The gap between the stop and restart point is closed, while managing the recording process precisely and transparently eliminating under run errors while maintaining recording accuracy. It ensures a higher level of writing reliability than has ever been possible in the past.</i></blockquote>
Le caratteristiche tecniche di questo nuovo modello sono velocità di scrittura di 16x, di riscrittura di 10x e di lettura di 40x; il tempo d'accesso medio è di 140 ms e il buffer dati di 2 Mbytes. Una delle caratteristiche principali è la tecnologia Seamless Link, che permette di azzerare i problemi di buffer underrun.
