Fancy feeling the wind in your hair... at 207mph? That's the incredible prospect awaiting potential owners of the McLaren Mercedes SLR convertible - a car that has remained top secret until now.

Auto Express has learned a drop-top version of the car built in Woking, Surrey, is well on its way to production, and will be officially unveiled within six months.

It follows in the wheeltracks of the Vision SLR concept car, and will use the same 626bhp V8 as the standard model. With McLaren's composite body, the SLR convertible will be as strong as the fixed-roof version, and its performance just as explosive. Prices start at a hair-raising £350,000.

A maggio ho visto per bene una SLR in uno showroom a Bruxelles, che dire... è un transatlantico non da poco... direi che ci sono modi migliori per spendere i soldi che costa.

Però c'è pur sempre lo zampino Mercedes:

Pesante -> Potenza sprecata -> Prezzo alto -> Chi te lo fa fà?

Però ammetto che la linea è sbalorditiva...
L'unica parte tecnica che approvo a pieno sono i freni ;)

Non mi è mai piaciuta...quando arrivano le curva è pessima, e a quel prezzo, e in quel settore c'è molto, ma mooooolto meglio!

non mi ha mai convinto appieno. la mclaren f1 era di ben altro spessore, sia in bellezza che in prestazioni.

L'altro giorno ho visto la puntata di Top Gear dove la gara era Londra - Oslo e Jeremy se l'è fatta con una SLR .....
