Salve a tutti, ai possessori dell'abbastanza comune controller 1200a dell'adaptec che usano winxp vorrei esporre una soluzione per questo rognoso problema :mad: :
nell'istallazione del controller sotto winxp ,usando i driver forniti dalla stessa casa adaptec si riscontra un problema di compatibilità fra questi e il sistema.Durante l'installazione della periferica dice che "il file INF si riferisce probabilmente a win95 " impedendo cosi' il riconoscimento e l'utilizzo del controller e quindi dei dischi collegati. Dopo varie incazzature sono riuscito a trovare su un forum americano la soluzione ,in inglese ma facilmente comprensibile:
When installing in windows XP SP2 if you are getting the error "The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor." then this is what you need to do to get it working properly....
Go to Control Panel,
select Add Hardware Wizard
Let it search and it wont find anything, select "Yes, I have connected the hardware."
Scroll to the bottom and select "Add new Hardware Device"
Select "Install hardware that I manually select from a list"
Select "SCSI and RAID controllers"
Select "Have Disk"
Browse for your adaptec (or Highpoint) win XP drivers and click OK.
click next and finish up the wizard.
It may ask to install the Adaptec RCM device, install like normal.
Then go into your device manager and delete the one that says "mass storage controller"
then reboot.
Everything should work afterwards. YEAY!
I don't know why this isn't on Adaptec or Highpoints support pages.(at least I didn't see it) Figuring this out was very frustrating and I hope this prevents others from going through the same frustration.
