Dear Paolo Pertempi,
Thank you for buying Tagan Power Supply TG530-U15.
The switchable 12V is according to Intel standard, all power supply must obey this
rule, the same with Tagan PSU, so the split mode comes out. In split mode, it limits
the current over the 12V rails, that means the maximum power for 12V rail is 240W(12V
x 20A). In spilt mode, any 12V rail of the connectors can only run under 20A. When any
12V rail is more than 20A, the protection works and the power supply stops working at
once. You know nowadays the power is more and more, and 12V rail sometimes is more
than 240W, so we supply other combine mode. In combine mode, the power supply will
still work when runs over 20A current, but total current over all 12V rails of the
power supply must be less than 33A. Assume that the 12V rail in the 20 pin connector
is 30A, then the other 12V rails only can get maximum 3A current. We suggest the user
to use combine model, because it is more stable than split mode, and if your computer
system is very power hungry, and you want to more security, you can use split mode.
Hope these explain help you a little.
