Available Now: 64-Bit Half-Life® 2 and Lost Coast™

For those of you running with a 64-bit capable AMD® processor, along with the Windows® 64-bit operating system, Half-Life 2 and Lost Coast are now available in native 64-bit versions. Steam will automatically detect your OS and run the appropriate version the next time you run these games.

We've been working with AMD to get the Source™ engine up and running in 64-bit mode to make sure we're taking advantage of these hardware configurations. This is just a first step for Valve into 64-bit. Going forward, we realize that more and more of our customers will be running with 64-bit processors and we will be set to take true advantage of them.

A me l'ha fatto...

vedo alcune texture un po troppo...accentuate...più unte...più lucide e sinceramente l'effetto non mip iace proprio...specie in aztec..!!!

Ho giocato 2 minuti a Lost Coast ma onestamente non ho fatto caso a differenze (posto che ci siano)...magari riprovo

a livello prestazionale io non ho notato miglioramenti sensibili, però ho fatto caso che i caricamenti puri di un livello (vedi lost coast) sono sensibilmente migliorati.

Però può essere che mi sbagli, che sia solo suggestione.

Da dire che LC non lo uso da diverse settimane.

Nulla :D

l'aggiornamento lo fa lo stesso, poi quando parte il gioco se hai un athlon 64 fa partire le presunte migliorie, altrimenti tutto come prima :)

I miglioramenti sono solo prestazionali, inoltre per poter attivare i 64bit bisogna avere anche windows 64.

"solamente" il carico del processore è minore, quindi non so quanto si guadagna. La gestione della fisica è uguale.

Bisogna avere Vista per far partire la modalità 64 bit e ovviamente un AMD64, saranno presumibilmente pochi quelli che potranno usufruirne...

Io ho un amd64 ma non VISTA...eppure qualcosa nella grafica è cambiato....il suolo in aztec ad esempio è tutto più...come dire...bagnato...anche il pavimento in ITALY...
