Questions and Answer about No End Soon and Revolution.

Instead of picking out a few, I've decided to answer all questions. It's an extremely long read, but I hope you enjoy it.

I'd like to thank you all for the questions and hope you're satisfied with the given answers for now.

QUESTIONS & ANSWER-->

QUESTION: How long will it take to complete the game?

ANSWER: Currently we’re aiming at least at 40+ hours of game play for the average gamers. This doesn’t include every single “mini game”, but only to finish the game. If you want to beat the game 100% you can ad another 10+ hours of game play. This is what we’re aiming for.

QUESTION: Will you be able to beat the game without completing all of the available missions?

ANSWER: Yes, it will be possible to finish the game without having done everything possible in the game.

QUESTION: The problem I have with FPS games is they all have the same fundementals. Shoot the bad guys, find the leader, kill the leader. They just have different enemies, locations, guns, and graphics. What is going to make No End Soon different from the other First Person Shooters out there?

ANSWER: What makes No End Soon different from the other FPS’s out there, is that we directly involve the consumer in the development cycle. We’re reading your idea’s, review them and if possible include them in the game. But of course, what will really make No End Soon different, is the way how you will play it, with the unique innovative features Revolution’s controller offers. There’s so incredible much possible with this controller, which wasn’t possible with current generation controllers. In fact there’s so much possible we don’t even know all the possibility’s, which is why we started this blog to receive ideas from you, the consumer.

QUESTION: On a general development note - how long does it take to develop a game from start to finish?

ANSWER: You can compare developing for Revolution with Gamecube. It takes a little bit longer for Revolution, because it has more possibilities, but in the end, the development cycle is much shorter and cheaper when you compare them to competitors systems.

QUESTION: How is the game play going to be like what I mean is it going to be fast, medium, or slow pace shooter.

ANSWER: Well, we haven’t got any build ready as of yet, but as you probably understand the speed will be extremely fast. You can easily aim at an enemy with this controller in less than no time if you compare it with current generation controllers. Because of this the speed in No End Soon (and you can expect this in many, many more games) will be much faster as you can now manually aim at your opponent.

QUESTION: With the Revolution/TBA with the controller how much would you compare it to a mouse.

ANSWER: I think you’re asking me here what’s better, Revolution’s controller or a mouse for PC? I can be pretty short on this; Revolution’s controller. You will understand exactly what I mean as soon you’ve played it. You can be a lot more precisely with Revolution’s controller, if you compare it with a mouse. I suppose you all have read how excited the Media was when they played Revolution right? It’s just fantastic!

QUESTION: When making a game for the Revolution/TBA How hard is it going to be to port it to say like a 360 or PS3 you know port from the Revolution/TBA to another console. How hard would that be or how simple.

ANSWER: I’m not a programmer, so I don’t know. No End Soon will be an exclusive FPS shooter for Revolution. But according to Nintendo it’s extremely easy. So it’s hard for me to confirm/deny this, sorry.

QUESTION: If you can say how would the graphics be comparable to would you say CoD or Halo 2 if you don't know can you give us what you think its going to look like at least unless your under some Contract saying you can't discuss nothing like that yet. Thanks again.

ANSWER: Nintendo Revolution will be able to display next generation visuals. So can you compare it to CoD or Halo 2? No you can’t, because those are current generation games.

QUESTION: Is No End Soon a persistent world like Metroid Prime or a successive levels like Halo ?I dream on a game what have a persistent world like metroid prime and a great cinematic history like Halo

ANSWER: No End Soon will give you the level of freedom you could expect from a Grand Theft Auto game. I hope that answers your question.

QUESTION: Will NoES play in our solar system or one/serveral other(s)?

ANSWER: No End Soon will start on Earth around 2045. Other worlds you will be able to visit will be both in our solar system as in others. For other solar systems we will try to imagine real existing solar systems with information we can found about them on Internet and of course think of some fun not real existing ones. Have any idea for a weird or serious looking one? Don’t hesitate to submit!

QUESTION: Will you also show content or only annouce the game at E³?

ANSWER: No End Soon will be officially announced by a press release before e3 2006. The first content will be shown at e3 2006, whether it’s at our own booth or Nintendo’s one. However it is possible we’ll release a teaser at the same time we officially announce No End Soon, if Nintendo’s policy allows us to at that time.

QUESTION: Is cooperative gameplay planned?

ANSWER: Offline co-operative game play is planned. Online co-operative game play isn’t planned as of yet.

QUESTION: When is the final deadline?

ANSWER: The final deadline for No End Soon is Christmas 2006. But we expect to have it finisht a few months earlier. However, No End Soon is not planned to be a system launch title for Revolution.

QUESTION: Do you know about the final design of the Rev? Will there be another change beside the size?

ANSWER: Nintendo Revolution will look basically the same as the prototypes Nintendo showed at E3 2005. But as you said it will be a little bit smaller and some other very small things have changed you probably even won’t notice. People that have had hand on time with Revolution (like IGN) will notice the difference, but you won’t.

Well, keep in mind that’s what we’ve been told. It could always be possible Nintendo decides to make a complete different design, but that’s of course not something you should expect.

QUESTION: Could some people profit more from giving ideas than having the ideas only integrated into the game?

ANSWER: As for now this experiment don’t allow us to go give money for useful idea’s or to give money to implant them. Only thing we can do is to give you credit in the instruction booklet. Keep in mind however if this experiment succeeds it’s very likely more games will be build with direct consumer influence and there could be a special program to earn money if an idea get used. But that’s future talking, let’s stay to No End Soon for now, which is a game based in the future! Stupid joke, I know, sorry.

QUESTION: can we play with two remotes : one for shooting, one for light or another gun ?

ANSWER: Revolution supports the feature to have two controllers for only one character. However, we haven’t really officially discussed this possibility’s as of yet. So I can’t confirm you to whether we’ll use the feature or not.

QUESTION: Is there gonna be a lot of platform like metroid prime or there are no plattform at all?

ANSWER: No End Soon will give you the freedom of a Grand Theft Auto game as I explained above. The game will have a great story (thanks to you guys) but if you want to follow it or not is you’re choice. Want to play the several mini games before going on a mission? No problem, it’s your choice. Basically just imagine Metroid Prime, Halo and Grand Theft Auto combined and then you can imagine a little bit how we plan to make No End Soon. But, I want to get straight, this is only what we’ve planned so fare. If we notice during development consumers don’t want a game like this, we’ll of course change it. After all, that’s why we started this blog right?

QUESTION: Do you have chosen a target audience yet? will the enemies bleed when you shoot at them?

ANSWER: Thank you for asking this question, freedan. This is an example of something important we’ve discussed at the meeting, but I forgot to mention. Yes we’ve chosen our target audience. The game will be targeted at both casual and hardcore gamers. Most people agreed the feature Kraid submitted should be play able for casual gamers, even thought they probably need to practise this style. However if you see yourself as a non-gamer I can already say to you already, this won’t be the game for you. There will be a lot of action and it requires a fast reaction.

QUESTION: will be different if I shoot a enemy on his leg than if I shoot his head? (I hope so)

ANSWER: Yes there will be different animation, if that’s what your question was.

QUESTION: Is there any particular reason why No End Soon shares the same acronym as Nintendo Entertainment System?

ANSWER: Who knows, maybe there is. Keep in mind however; “No End Soon” is only a working title, which means it could change in the future.

QUESTION: Is it as easy to develop for the Revolution as we are hearing from IGN, gamesindustry.biz, etc.?

ANSWER: If I would speak for my department, audio, yes it is. Now if I listen to other people in my team when they talk about stuff in their department I can say the same thing, yes it is. So bottom line; yes it’s as easy to develop for as IGN, gameindustry.biz says it is.

QUESTION: Are there any other games that seem to be having a large influence on the development of No End Soon?

ANSWER: No there aren’t, as there aren’t any games which will have the same game play possibility’s No End Soon will offer. Remember we’re going to use the unique innovative features Revolution’s controller offers. So how could we be influenced by other games if there aren’t any out which use this yet?

QUESTION: Can you tell us whether the 3rd revolutionary aspect is something that is completely in the system itself, completely in the controller, or is it some combination of the two?

ANSWER: Ah yes, an evil question indeed. It’s hard to describe, but I think if I write it’s a combination of them both, you will probably understand why I wrote this, when you saw it.

QUESTION: Did u check out the music link?

ANSWER: Yes I have checked it today.

QUESTION: Do u really think its that good to use 2045 as the time point of the game when you are talking about different Planets to explore? I mean... we didnt even land on the mars with humans... maybe we will start building a basis on the moon in 40 years... but no travveling with lightspeed between planets...

ANSWER: I think you’re underestimating the human brains. If you look how much has changed in 10 years and calculate to this 2045, it’s actually possible. This is the opinion of the team that is, so maybe you and some others disagree on this opinion, but that’s fine, but we like to stick to the 2045 time frame.

QUESTION: How do u want to create a multiplayer mode within the knwon storyline?! or even a coop mode?

ANSWER: Multiplayer online modes won’t be influenced by the single player story line. Co-operative modes are possible, because as you could have read, when you start the game you can chose to become a female or male character. If you go into co-operative mode there will be one female character and one male character. One of the two will be family from you. So you can expect one more person in the “starting movie” if you are playing co-operative mode.

QUESTION: Will there be RPG elements? like XP points in combat... gun hadling ... accuraty (does that word exist?! )

ANSWER: Not officially discussed yet, however I’d like to see RPG elements in my personal opinion.

QUESTION: will there be a huge usage of the 3rd. unknown feature?

ANSWER: Probably.

QUESTION: what does the 3rd feature has to do with "2 people"? thats what you emphasized a while ago...

ANSWER: Did I? If I did, you probably know it when Nintendo announce the third revolutionary feature don’t you think?

QUESTION: Is the 3rd. feature something like "Ambilight" of Phillips TVs? That would be cool.. imagine there is a storm with falshs inside the game and everytime a flash strikes, the 2 controlelr sonesors and the "glowing" Dsic solt of the revolution are like simulating the flash by makeing a bright short white flash ( u know, simultanously to the game) or if you enter a desert, your room will be shown in a desert yellow/red ... or blue wenh you are diving THAT would be cool... u feel the game

ANSWER: The third revolutionary feature has nothing to do with products made by Philips.

QUESTION: does the character have special powers? maybe he is able to controle plants

ANSWER: We haven’t discussed special powers for character yet. It’s an interesting feature to include nonetheless. For example don’t expect the character to control plants with his mind, but maybe if you find some kind of chip which you can implant into your head, it’s possible to control plants. Now I don’t say this will be included, but I only say if there will be special powers, you should expect them to be included this way.

QUESTION: How long has the game been in development?

ANSWER: Uhm, if I would include everything, so let’s say from day one the idea of this game came in mind of some one in the team. I would estimate a month or 3 by now.

QUESTION: Are you using a In-house engine for the game?

ANSWER: We’re currently using a special for Revolution designed prototype engine, provided by the engineers of Nintendo, which is included in our current development kit.

QUESTION: From which country are the development team?

ANSWER: Policy only allows me to say we’re a European located game development company, without mentioning the exact country.

QUESTION: Are you planing for the game to be a launch title?

ANSWER: No we are currently not planning No End Soon to be a launch title.

QUESTION: Is this the company's first game?

ANSWER: No, the company has developed and published several games before already. However in our team there are also several people which have never worked on a real game before. The team is a mix of experienced older people and newer younger talented people.

QUESTION: Could you post a picture of the revolution controller your dev team received, maybe laying on a company desk or something.

ANSWER: Because the controller Nintendo showed at TGS was only a prototype and announced the final design could be a little bit different than shown, the policy currently don’t allow us to show you the controller, because there’s a possibility it could have been changed/tweaked a little bit. Now remember, I do not confirm or deny the controller has changed, but because there’s a possibility it is, the policy which Nintendo gave us do not allow us to show you a picture of the controller laying on a desk or whatever. If Nintendo however, reveal the final controller before E3 (which is possible) and allows us to show you a picture of the final version of the controller on our company’s desk, I won’t hesitate to create a picture and show it to you.

QUESTION: How many players will be able to play in cooperation (if there is) and in multiplayer ? Or in other modes if you can think of some

ANSWER: In co-operative mode there will be a maximum of two. In offline multiplayer two or four people (depending on if we use one or two controllers for one character, which as I’ve explained above isn’t decided officially yet) with an undecided amount of bots. Online you will be able to play with at least 64 people at ones, with a possibility this number will grow as Nintendo is still working on Nintendo WiFi Connection for Revolution.

QUESTION: Where will the game start ? It could be in 2045, Earth year but you could begin on a far more advanced planet... and later crash on Earth.

ANSWER: The game will start on Earth around 2045. Keep in mind the character you will play, will originally be from the human race, located at Earth.

QUESTION: Will we be able to choose our controls ? Like, if we only want to play with the shell controller ? IMO yes but you never know)

ANSWER: You will not be able to chose whether you want to play with the shell controller or free hand style controller. Now of course you wonder why this isn’t possible. You need to understand the speed of the game will be a lot faster compared to any current released game on any system, because of the unique features the controller offers. Therefore it’s impossible to deliver the same amount of speed with the shell controller. It should be possible to program for the offline part of the game with an option which slow down the speed of the game as well, but imagine what will happen when you play online. Some one who plays with the shell controller basically has less than 1% chance to win from some one who uses the free hand style controller, because he can move way faster than the person which plays with the shell controller. I hope you understand the problem.

QUESTION: Could the graphics ressemble to this : http://reklamyftp.gry-online.pl/m/metroid_prime.mov

ANSWER: Hehe, tricky question you got there. I can again only write No End Soon, just as all the other Nintendo Revolution games, will be able to show true next-generation visuals.

QUESTION: How will No End Soon's graphics compare to next-gen games now like PDZ or Call of Duty 2 on 360?

ANSWER: The visuals of No End Soon will be true next-generation visuals. So you can expect at least visuals which are on pare with the games you’ve stated above.

QUESTION: Will No End Soon be playable at E3 06? Or will we just see a trailer?

ANSWER: No End Soon will be playable at our booth.

QUESTION: When do you think Nintendo will announce the final name? I don't think they could afford to keep that secret for that much longer.

ANSWER: I don’t know Nintendo’s exact plans on when they will announce the final name. Only thing I know from the NOE’s which visited us during the meeting, is that Nintendo will announce the final name before E3 2006.

QUESTION: What about this cube-mapping tech that Nintendo really patented what is it and will all developers be able to use it on the Revolution?http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.htm%20l&r=20&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=nintendo&s2=

ANSWER: First of all, the link you provided doesn’t say anything about cube-mapping, or is patented by Nintendo. I suppose you accidentally provided us the wrong link. Doesn’t matter, because I understand you question. I can tell you however Revolution will use a different technique to display next-generation graphics, which they haven’t officially announced yet. This technique is way more powerful compared to cube-mapping. I don’t know how it exactly works by the way, because the visuals aren’t my department as you know.

QUESTION: Do you ever get tired of morons asking you for information about the Nintendo Revolution when if you are a developer (ill give you the benefit of the doubt since you dont claim to have all this hidden BS that others do) behind a NDA even if you never get caught it will ruin all credibility for your company to do it?

ANSWER: I get tired from a lot of different things. I rather answer annoying questions, instead to notice false unbelievable information which many people seems to believe. Of course we aren’t completely stupid and already expected questions besides No End Soon would turn up. This blog is an experiment, but has its limits for options to prove it’s real, so questions besides No End Soon wouldn’t turn up, because of the policy Nintendo gave us. Therefore we can’t complain if 80% really fur fill the purpose of this blog with feedback and only 20 % continues with asking stuff about Revolution only.

As I mentioned before already we haven’t started this experiment without discussion. Not every one in the team supported this idea when we started, but while time goes by (and looking back at results we’ve made out of this blog already) more people in the team starting to support this experiment. We won’t break any NDA.

In fact we even told the NOE’s we were doing it and they have no problem with it at all and why should they? As long we stick to the given policy it’s no problem to do this. In fact when they read the feedback we got from you guys in only a few days they were very surprised.

So before you’re all going to start Nintendo of Europe asking to confirm this I’d like to point out Nintendo of Europe is not involved in any way in this experiment and therefore I don’t expect them to answer your e-mail or actually even to be aware of this blog, since we only mentioned it fast to the two NOE’s. Of course it’s possible the NOE’s talked about it back at their headquarters, but I don’t think it’s likely. You could always try of course.

QUESTION: Do you ever wish there could be simple fun games aswell as massive games, room for both in the market like back in the SNES and NES days of gaming?

ANSWER: Of course there’s room for both. To tell you the truth I’m a retro gamer sometimes as well. As many off you, I’ve personally enjoyed the NES/SNES times most. N64 and Gamecube both had great games as well, not to mention some competitors systems had some very nice titles as well, but none of them gave me the feeling I had back at the NES/SNES days. Therefore I personally really support Nintendo’s statement about some games getting to complex now days. Now I’d like to point out this doesn’t mean I don’t like complex games! Actually I love them. But with the current generation consoles it seems the more simple games are almost not made anymore. This will change with Revolution, I’m positive.

Because Revolution gives you the opportunity to play NES/SNES(/N64 and Gamecube) games is the first reason why I’m positive Revolution will give back this feeling. The second reason I have is because Revolution’s controller is designed with both simple and complex games in mind. We’re for example are now creating a pretty complex game, which appeals pretty much to all kind of current console gamers if I exclude the few “non-gamers” which existed this generation as well of course. I know other development teams which I’m not allowed to mention from different studio’s are creating complex games as well. But I do know studio’s which are creating simple games as well. With Revolution’s controller those studio’s are able to create very small budget games, which are very simple to play and gave a lot of fun! For example I’d like to mention the cooking game Nintendo teased you with at TGS. Now as I’ve mentioned before you could expect a look a like mini game of this in No End Soon. But what if a studio ever decides to create a real game based on this? Different levels with different missions to become the ultimate cook and everything you’ve to do is to swing with the controller!
Now this probably doesn’t appeal to current generation gamers, who love all the action and shooting, but I can assure you, your grandmother or father would love to play a game like this. It’s easy, very simple and gives an enormous amount of fun. Even I would be very interested to try out such an easy game.

This is only an example of what’s possible when talking about simple games on Revolution. There’s so much possible, I think you can’t even begin to imagine all the possibility’s for innovative idea’s which appeal to both simple and complex games. Just try it!

Keep in mind however No End Soon won’t be a simple game but a little bit more complex, but easy enough for every one to play.

Bottom line is: With Revolution there’s finally room for both simple and complex games which can be enjoyed by every one.

QUESTION: Will we see any trailers or for that matter pictures of the game (somewhere in Aprilish or May) before Nintendo unveil everything about the Revolution?

ANSWER: We don’t know which kind of policy’s Nintendo will give us in the future. I do expect Nintendo will allow us to show you all a teaser before E3 2006, but not to show any in game pictures/movies of No End Soon before E3 2006. Keep in mind however; we don’t know for sure if Nintendo plans to show Revolution games at E3 2006 for the first time. It’s always possible they will show some stuff before, but we aren’t aware of their exact schedule. If they decide however to show in game pictures/movies before E3 2006 we will be noticed by them a weeks before the given date. We expect however to show in game stuff for the first time at E3 2006 as I’ve written before.

QUESTION: How long roughly would you say, would this game take to beat? I know you might not know, but give a rough estimate at the least.

ANSWER: As written before, I estimate a roughly 40+ hours excluding all the mini-game you could play or extra missions.

QUESTION: What type of guns will be available for this game? Or what type of guns are you thinking of implementing? Any futuristic guns that are new and haven't been seen in any games?

ANSWER: As this will be a futuristic game, we are planning futuristic weapons. Imagine some weird modified James Bond look a like weapons (don’t expect exact copies, which is impossible because of copyrights, but I mentioned it to give an example) or completely new guns which don’t exist yet. Probably some of you could even draw some ideas on paper/photoshop and submit them in the comment section so we can review them and maybe even use it. This way you will maybe even get credits and get your name mentioned in the instruction booklet of No End Soon! Is this really possible you’d ask? As this whole project is a experiment which directly involves the consumer into the development cycle, yes of course it is.

QUESTION: How much data has been used on the disc for this game? Give some sort of rough estimate if you don't know, or if you're really unsure, just say how much is left on the disc.

ANSWER: We’re at an early development fase, so it’s very difficult, if not impossible, to answer this one. Personally I expect we’ll use around 65% of the discs capacity, because of the amazing compress methods Revolution supports.

QUESTION: How far away is the next day or date that Nintendo will say something about the Revolution?

ANSWER: As I don’t work for Nintendo I don’t have their exact schedule. As I mentioned before we don’t always know when Nintendo plans to show what. Only if it’s necessary to mention to us, they will, if not, they won’t. No luckily for you guys I’ve got a rough estimate of the NOE’s on when Nintendo is planning to talk about Revolution again. As IGN and other sites already mentioned Nintendo will start talking about Revolution early 2006 all the way to E3 2006. From what the NOE’s told me, Nintendo is planning to give some “interesting new details” by late January or early February. They didn’t provide me an exact date or what those “interesting new details” were, but even if I knew what they would announce I wouldn’t be allowed to talk about. So expect some “interesting new details” about Revolution late January or early February. Keep in mind however it’s very good possible Nintendo will release information even before the given dates through press releases.

QUESTION: That 3:rd secret, will it be as "revolutionary" as the announcement of the controllers? In other words, will it be as big of a deal as the controllers were when they were announced?

ANSWER: Short but simplistic answer: Yes, the third revolutionary is as big of a deal as the controllers were when they were announced.

QUESTION: question or idea!! it was ask before but ill ask again if you shoot head or feet will it make a difference, (This is the idea part) if you shoot their feet would they be crawling?

ANSWER: Yes, there will be different animations.

QUESTION: Are you using displacement mapping?

ANSWER: Nintendo hasn’t released any officially solution about this subject to the public, therefore I’m not allowed to confirm or deny it. I can only say it could be possible.

In fact if you do some re-search on internet and keep in mind Nintendo Revolution won’t have the exact horsepower of their competitors, but will be able to show true next-generation visuals, you basically could know already which kind of solutions combined will perform those visuals.

As I’ve said before, you could’ve known everything about Revolution right after Nintendo released both codenames Hollywood and Broadway and said it won’t have the horsepower of their competitors, but will be able to show next-generation visuals. All the solutions exist already, but were never used as efficient as Revolution will do.

Thank you again.

No End Soon - Nintendo Revolution Development
Monday, December 19, 2005
Summary

I couldn’t stop myself from posting this. I’d like to tell you all we’ve received newer development kits a lot earlier than expected. These are pre-final development kits though. However they are an extreme improvement compared to the last one and include new prototypes of Hollywood and Broadway. I can conclude for sure now; don’t worry about the graphics, Nintendo will deliver again this generation! Not to mention Nintendo included amazing use full tools and a library of tech demo’s which are very use full in the progress to implant the third revolutionary feature in No End Soon.

In other news we’ve managed to create build 1 and get it running at the previous development kits. It’s all very basic but some things make use of the controller already! More about this when we’re fully back.

As well I’d like to give you an exact date when we’ll fully return. Right after Mr.Reggie has spoken early February at D.I.C.E Summit 2006 we’ll return. As we’ve said already Nintendo would release new details about Revolution late January or early February, which has become early February. Are we only good guessers or do we know more than you all think after all? It’s you to decide.

We know what Mr.Reggie will announce and all I can tell you is; Look forward to it, don’t expect an E3-a-like announcement, but a nice solid amount of new information which will keep the community busy for a while!. We’ve already received a new policy ( included with the new development kits ), which will become active right after his announcements. You should look forward to his speech and check this blog right after his speech. Within a few hours after Mr.Reggie his speech we’ll update with lots of news. This new policy allows us to reveal many more things, so you can expect a very long read and .... maybe even more.

Thankyou

N64 e Ps1 come erano messi?

Da quel che ricordo (nulla di affidabile) erano sui 150000 il primo e 128000 la seconda...

Quel che è certo è che vale la stessa considerazione di cui sopra.
L'N64 aveva via hardware (seppur primitivi) Z-buffer, antialiasing, filtro trilineare e non_mi_ricordo_tutte _le_specifiche_del_chip_RCP.
Roba che la PS1 neanche poteva sognare, ed il divario grafico infatti era totale. :O

dalle informazioni che so io, la configurazione hardware dovrebbe essere di tutto rispetto, forse più potente dell'xbox 360.
Ciao
ecco la config. che so io(sembra molto veritiera):
The brains of the console are rumored to be a single dual-threaded IBM "custom" PowerPC 2.5 GHz CPU, with 256 KB L1 cache and 1 MB of L2 cache (L3 cache is rumored). The system will also sport a Physical Processing Chip (PPU) with 32MB of dedicated RAM, while the CPU itself will saddled up next to 512MB of system RAM. The custom ATI GPU solution is rumored to consist of a RN520 600MHz core, backed with 256MB of RAM and "32 parallel floating-point dynamically scheduled shader pipelines." While the output will theoretically be capable of putting out 1080p resolution (higher even, at 2048x1268), Solo says that HD support has not yet been decided

Quello che più mi esalta è che sicuramente sopra ci sarà l'ageia

Aggiornamento sul blog:

Information and No End Soon schedule.

Only a few weeks before both I and Mr.Rebus fully return. A lot has been going on in the No End Soon project. A lot of discussion, lot meetings, a lot more work has been done. Ill once again try to give a summary of everything what has happened.

First of all, the No End Soon project itself.

We’re currently still working with the pre-final Development Kits (final Development Kits are expected to come in mid-February now) we’ve received more than a month ago. Although this means we aren’t able to use Revolution at it fullest yet, combined with documents of we’ve a pretty clear picture of what will be possible now and what won’t.

No End Soon currently is currently in pre-alpha stage, with pretty much running already. I’d like to go a little bit more detailed into this with an overall progress percentage.

Character design-
Currently concept arts of all the planned characters are done, with many currently being modelled into 3D. If I need to give an estimate of how much Character design currently is done, I would say 20%. I’d like to announce today as well we will provide some exclusive concept art with an interview with revogaming.net which will being held a few days after the upcoming D.I.C.E 2006 event. As I’ve told before a new policy will become active after D.I.C.E 2006, which will allow us to share more stuff with you all. Although it’s not much, we’re allowed to show some concept arts. Look forward for the first exclusive concept art at revogaming.net soon!

Level design-
Level design is coming along nicely as well, although it’s not as far done as Character design currently is. Level design requires some more time, as we’re talking about gigantic levels, unseen in any current generation titles. For what I’ve played I can assure you (even though it’s not much yet) you will enjoy running, swimming, walking, driving, flying trough those worlds every minute! Walking trough a city is a great experience already. You should know as sound guy I’m really surprised of what Revolution is able to perform. The people or creatures you meet while walking will nicely say hello to you. It’s hilarious to be honest! I must say I’ve been responsible for recording some of those voices, and some are really funny to hear.

Programming-
The programmers are hard working with a new in house engine (NOTE: the engine provided with the previous Development Kit (which was pretty limited after all) is not being used anymore.) From what I’ve heard from Mr.Rebus and the others everything is going pretty smooth. I think Mr.Rebus will update you in a few weeks with more about this, as this is his department. But from what I know many features are already programmed and working correctly.

Sounds-
Ah yes, my department! It’s pretty difficult for me to give concrete information without spoiling too much. I could write many lines about it, but I think that would be wrong. However, you should know I’ve reviewed all of your ideas/comments about sounds/music in No End Soon. I think I’ve managed to create some pretty neat music already, which is pretty much in line of what most of you requested. Currently we’re trying to get some licensed music into No End Soon (which is in line with the music I’ve created). Because of this I’m talking a lot with different people outside the company lately. I think the result will please all of you.
In some other nice news (maybe you’ve concluded it already) but all the characters will get voices! To be even more specific, some known actors in the movie industry will offer their voices for No End Soon. Again I can assure you the result will be very pleased by all of you. There’s still much work to do for the sound department (and so for me), but I think we’ve got 30% of everything we want to get in, done already.

All together we’ve got a pretty nice pre-alpha build running now. It’s fun to play (even though it is very limited at the moment!) There are only two different weapons working yet and there aren’t many enemy characters working bug-free yet, but only exploring the worlds (what’s done that is) is fun enough to play it for a few hours.

Meetings

We’ve had a lot of meetings as well. It’s way too much to write about it all. However what I want happened and we’ve had one meeting which was to discuss ALL the ideas provided by every single visitor of this blog. I can assure you; this was not a short meeting and an easy one. We’ve discussed for hours and hours, but it was far from boring. I think we’ve discussed 80% of the day about everything. Every single idea was mentioned, discussed, reviewed, whatever you want to call it. It’s funny I had to notice several ideas of which I first thought were not possible, seems to be possible after all. By estimate I’ve to say about 60% of the given idea’s were really use full and at least 50% will almost certainly be added. This development cycle is really unique, but really working. Most of us were really surprised of some ideas, some of which they haven’t ever thought about.

I know you would like to know which ideas will be used and which not, but I won’t tell you, yet, as it would spoil many features! We’re currently looking into possibilities for giving credits to several users for their ideas, as they really deserve it. Well before E3 2006 I will post a list of user blog names, of which we like to receive an e-mail address from, so we can contact him/her for different legal reasons. You should expect this list somewhere late March/early April. Keep in mind however, this does not mean we don’t need your ideas anymore. As we’re trying to create the ultimate FPS, we like to receive new ideas until the game goes gold. Every idea given before No End Soon is gold will be reviewed.

I’d like to end this post with a schedule I’ve created of when you should expect what. It’s subject to change however (which means more things could be added, it’s very unlikely something gets removed).
NOTE: These dates only provide dates which are important for the No End Soon project.

NOTE: This does NOT mean Revolution will be released in 2007 in Japan.

I’d like to remember once more those dates provided above are only important for the No End Soon project, which means additional information regarding Revolution could be released at more dates as well.

Thank you,
Mr.Inc
