View Full Version : Blocco di Fedora 4 lanciando in esecuzione Eclipse
Buonasera a tutti,
ho installato Fedora Core 4 su VMware Workstation 5.0, e tutto sembra funzionare, ma quando lancio in esecuzione Eclipse, arrivati alla schermata di scelta (tutorial, esempi ecc.), Fedora Core 4 si blocca, senza che sia possibile sbloccarlo nemmeno con CTRL+ALT+INS (che sarebbe CTRL+ALT+CANC inviato alla macchina virtuale).
Qualche suggerimento?

Sì, intendo proprio un freeze.
Adesso non sono nelle vicinanze della workstation, sarà mia premura postare il contenuto quanto prima.

non vedo nessun indizio.
io però proprio su fedora core 4 (che installa dall'inizio una jvm) non sono riuscito ad usare eclipse fino a che non ho installato la jvm scaricata da Sun (1.4.2) e non ho utilizzato quella per far girare Eclipse.
se hai 10 minuti fai la prova di scaricarla e installarla in una directory (non rimuovere quella di fedora) e prova a eseguire eclipse anteponendo nel path la nuova jvm.

mettiamo che tu l'abbia installata in /opt/j2sdk1.4.2
da console:
>export PATH=/opt/j2sdk1.4.2/bin:$PATH
ora se digiti:
>java -version
dovresti vedere la jvm che hai appena installato.
poi lancia eclipse sempre da riga comando con qualcosa del tipo:
>/opt/eclipse/eclipse
e vedi se era quello il problema.

purtroppo sulla mia macchina /dev/sda1 è già occupato (/boot).
Comunque, ho provato con un'altra chiave, e la riconosce in automatico: problema della mia (forse una chiave da 1Gb non arriva a riconoscerla).
Ad ogni buon conto, ho un altro problema.
Quando lancio l'rpm con il buon vecchio
rpm -i jdk.......rpm,
mi dice che la JVM in questione è già installata.
Esisterà sicuramente uno switch per installare in un'altra directory, ma quale?

per vedere che package del jdk hai installato
per l'rpm esiste maniera di rilocare i file del package ma in questo caso sarebbe un po' un casino, è meglio se scarichi il "bin" che si scompatta nella directory in cui lo esegui.

Ho installata l'ultima versione, la 1.5.0 Update 6, che è anche quella che ho scaricato da java.sun.com.
Ho scaricato, per l'appunto, il bin; da terminale, nella directory in cui ho copiato il bin, ho eseguito uno splendido
./jdk-......bin,
mi estrae appunto l'rpm, lo vado ad eseguire con
rpm -i jdk........rpm e mi dice che il pacchetto è già installato....
Ho provato anche a lanciare Eclipse da terminale con ./eclipse, e stavolta, curiosamente, ha un comportamento diverso: non manda in freeze il sistema, ma il processo rimane bloccato sulla splashscreen iniziale (quella con l'eclissi, appunto).
Strano, nevvero?
Reputo sia opportuno inviarti il file /usr/share/eclipse/configuration/config.ini
no non e' strano e' lo stesso malfunzionamento che avevo io.
tu hai scaricato questo:
jdk-1_5_0_06-linux-i586-rpm.bin
mentre io intendevo quest'altro:
jdk-1_5_0_06-linux-i586.bin
che quando lo lanci non fa altro che scompattarsi in una directory all'interno di quella corrente, poi sistema il path.
se puoi scarica quella che ti ho indicato (che non essendo un rpm non ti genera conflitti), mentre se non ti interessa "sporcare un po' " la tua installazione allora rimuovi il jdk che hai ora (rpm -e --nodeps nomepacchetto) e poi installa quello che hai già scaricato.
fammi sapere.
beh, non posso che farti i miei complimenti: ho scompattato il binario, estratto in /opt, modificato il PATH ed ora riesco a lanciare Eclipse da riga di comando :)

evidentemente lo lanci con l'environment originale (quello che non funziona).
se non vuoi modificare le impostazioni della jvm per tutti i programmi crati un file myeclipse.sh nella directory di eclipse che contiene qualcosa tipo:
export JAVA_HOME=/opt/j2sdk1.4.2_04/
export PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH
/opt/eclipse/eclipse &
e modifica il link dell'icona facendolo puntare a quello.
non e' elegantissimo ma.... ;)
