"Canon Printers Easy to refill? Yes
The new line of Canon printer now have a chip on the cartridge. They can be refilled but you will have to turn off the ink monitor. Canon does show in their operation manual how to turn of the ink monitor. Canon's new smart led lamp flashes when ink is running low, and flashes even faster when near empty. When you install a new ink tank this smart led system will even glow to let you know if its not properly installed. I feel that they use this smart led to stop people from refilling their cartridges or a lease make it harder.
We have tested most of the new models and fine that they print excellent. Canon has changed it's ink formula so please do not fill the new cartridges with any of the older Canon ink. We have the new ink and a refill kit for the new Canon printers. The refill instructions will come on our new video CD.
I did some testing on Canon's new ip 4200 printer, this model has the lock out chip on the cartridges.( I call it a lock out chip). I loaded the printer with some plain paper and I printed a 8 x 10 square of solid yellow. After about 90 or so sheets the printer showed a low out of ink warning. I keep printing, and after another 40 or so pages the printer stop. The out of ink symbol came on and I could not print any more. Most cartridge page yields are based on a 5 % original.
In the photo below I show three cartridges two of them are our cartridges and one is a Canon cartridge.
Our 60 ml ( 2 oz. ) bottle of ink cost $ 8.00. A New Canon color cartridge holds approximately 14 ml when you buy it at a street price of $ 14.95. So you will have to buy at leased 4 cartridges at $ 14.95 a total of $59.80. If you refilled your cartridge 4 times with our refill kit it would have only cost you $ 2.00 per refill. Now you know why they don't want you to refill. Our easy fill cartridges hold more ink and cost 1/3 the price of the OEM.
I followed the procedure in the operation manual on how to turn off the ink monitor. So far I have refilled the same cartridge four time and have had no problem. If you refill each cartridge 4 times your savings would be $ 239.00 dollars.
New Models: ip 1600 / 6210D / 4200 / 6220D / 5200 / 6600D / 5200D
All in one models: MP 170 / 450 / 500"
