Sono lietissimo di annunciare a tutti i fan della saga Mechwarrior qui sul forum l'uscita di 2 favolosi pack per l'ultimo capitolo (Mercenaries, per i veterani Mercs :D).
Il pack 2 era uscito già parecchi mesi fa, ma il 3 appena 9 giorni fa e insieme al primo completa alla grande l'arsenale di armi e di 'Mech utilizzabili nelle Istant Action e nel Multiplayer.
Con l'aggiunta delle due espansioni ufficiali (il Clan Pack e l'IS Pack) in pratica si hanno a disposizione pressochè tutti i mech visti da Mechwarrior 2 ad oggi.
I 2 pack sono reperibili sul sito dei realizzatori: www.mektek.net, che sicuramente i giocatori di Mercs online già conosceranno bene :)

N.B.: è rigorosamente richiesto il CD originale, dato che nessun no-cd funziona con i 2 pack installati.....ma ormai trovate Mercs per pochi dollari/euro/sterline, quindi COMPRATELO, considerato anche il fatto che gira praticamente su ogni sistema in circolo oggigiorno (ha richieste di sistema veramente abbordabilissime).

Ipotizzando che abbiate la copia inglese di Mercs ecco i file necessari, oltre alla patch ufficiale di mamma Microsoft da installare prima di ogni altra cosa (http://mirror.cs.utah.edu/pub/mektek/mercpr1.exe):

Tutto si può italianizzare volendo ma non ci ha pensato mai nessuno per Mechwarrior (anche perchè vuoi mettere come suona "UltraAutocannon" rispetto a "UltraCannoneAutomatico" :D :D :D)

No, questo va bene solo per i 2 mech pack ufficiali (che devi comprare ovviamente), ma per i 2 di mektek (liberi) ci vuole Mercenaries :)

Scaricati solo la Patch "PR1" dal sito di mamma Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/games/mw4mercs/downloads.asp) e poi di seguito:
-MekTek Pak 2.1
-MekTek Pak 3
-MekTek Pak 3.01 (che è un hotfix appena uscito)

Ovviamente in inglese se hai il gioco in lingua inglese o tedesco se hai il gioco in lingua tedesca :)
Buon divertimento con le 118 unità :D

All'uscita di Robotech negli Stati Uniti erano già presenti sul mercato statunitense ed europeo dei modelli di mecha presenti nella serie, infatti la Revell aveva acquisito i diritti per la commercializzazione dei modelli e kit di montaggio relativi ai mezzi presenti negli anime Macross, Chojiku Seiki Orguss (entrambi prodotti dalla Tatsunoko) e Taiyô no Kiba Dougram (prodotto dalla Sunrise), che vennero presentati come facenti parte di un'unica linea chimata Robotech Defenders.

Anche la FASA Corporation aveva incluso nel 1984 nel suo gioco BattleDroids (rinominato poi BattleTech), senza averne diritto, i mecha presenti sia in Macross (per es: i Valkyrie vennero rinominati come Stinger, Wasp e Phoenix Hawk) che in Dougram (Dougram fu rinominato come Shadow Hawk, Crabgunner come Goliath, e Blizzard Gunner come Scorpion). Dopo un accordo extragiudiziale con i detentori dei diritti sul design dei mecha la FASA escluse questi dalle versioni successive di BattleTech e dei suoi prodotti derivati.

Il modello dei Varitech, nella versione VF-1S Super Valkyrie con armatura, venne inizialmente impiegato negli Stati Uniti anche per uno dei primi giocattoli dei Transformers, Jetfire. Per evitare problemi legali e non fare pubblicità alle aziende concorrenti che commercializzavano i giocattoli raffiguranti i Valkyrie, la Hasbro cambiò sia la forma che il nome del personaggio nel cartone animato (il nome divenne Skyfire, Aquila nella versione italiana).

L'ho visto ieri questo thread ma non avevo tempo di scrivere.
Cmq sto cercando anche io questo mercenaries ma ormai non si trova quasi + come i mech ufficiali che valgono a pedo d'oro...
Ma possibile che non facciano + un gioco che se anche è vecchio è l'ultimo uscito?

Si ma lo dicono da una vita :D perciò chiedevo il perchè di non produrre l'ultimo uscito fino a quando non esce il prossimo.
Per fare un esempio ;) half life 1 è stato sempre in vendita fino a quando era uscito il 2 :) certo non era facile trovarlo ma almeno era in vendita :D

Ciao a tutti voi complimenti per il forum è ben fatto e ricco di informazioni. Esordisco con questo mio primo post chiedendovi aiuto:

Ho installato mechwarrio 4 mercenaries ho scaricato la patch ma quando vado ad iniziare l'installazione mi da il seguente errore:

"error code descriptions can be found in the file "PRhotfixreadmemercs.rtf"0036 unable to complete patch"

A questo punto non so cosa fare :mc: avevo anche già scaricato i vari mecpek 3.02 etc.....ma suppongo che senza la patch PR1 non si possono installare.......

A questo punto faccio appello alla vostra esperienza e bontà, spero mi possiate aiutare a risolvere questo problema, voglio anch'io tanti bei mechs con cui giocare

Ok alla fine sono riuscito ad installare la patch pr1, ho scraicato dai links dati da lowenz i mekpacs, ma andando ad installare i mekpac mi dice:

"the following file does not match the file to be updated:C:\programmi\microsoft games\mechwarrior mercenaries\resource\core.mw4"

Mi date una mano.......sono l'unico che non ha ancora goduto di questi fantastici aggiornamenti, se qualche anima pia mi può guidare per mano all'installazione dei mekpac lo apprezzerei davvero tanto!!!:cry:

Non ho mai sentito di questi problemi (anche se ho avuto problemi x delle mappe che non le prende dopo installate)però, tanto che non ti risponde nessuno, ti posso solo augurare di trovare un modo possibile.
Cmq, tanto che ci sono, hai provato a reinstallarlo da capo?

Nel caso bisogna aspettare qualcun'altro.

Anche io dovrò chiedere un giorno sul problema delle mappe nuove.

ciao a tutti, volevo rispolverare il tread...chissa che non ci sia la possibilità di provare a fare qualche match online? che ne dite, ci organizziamo? io ho appena reinstallato mercs dopo secoli, e non mi ricordo come configuare il movimento delle gambe (dx-sx) in modo che sia indipendente dalla "vista"; mi spiego meglio, quello che vorrei è la rotazione del torso tramite mouse e la rodazione della direzione tramite fracce direzionali (piu freccia in su per accel e freccia giu per decell...) ma mi trovo a ruotare le gambe e contemporaneamente mi sposta la visuale sul lato della cabina, rendendo impossibile gestire la mira...
qualcuno mi puo dire come configuare sta cosa???

uff... mi manca un bel gioco di mech, dove diano la sensazione di potenza e grandezza...
il 2 mercenaries me lo sono giocato per un casino di tempo, e anche il 3 mi e' piaciuto... (e in quel periodo c'e' stato anche l'ottimo heavy gear 2... anche se non erano mech, ma il genere mi piaceva)...
il 4 pur piacendomi, non mi ha mai dato la sensazione di pilotare un mech, sembrava di stare su dei giocattoli... ma magari sara' perche' non sono mai riuscito a giocarci molto...

Trovato ??mechwarrior 4 mercenaries??? io non riesco a farlo andare on line per giocare in battle on line.

Ci siamo sentiti in un altro forum qualche mese fa :D cmq sto seguento, temporaneamente, di meno questo forum percui scusa il ritardo ma alla fine ho trovato mercenaries 2 anni fa, come ti avevo già detto nell'altro forum, però hai ragione perchè mi ero dimenticato di scriverlo esplicitamente ;)
Inoltre sta per uscire mw4 gratis compreso le espanzioni, ed anche questo te l'avevo detto mi pare, ma non si sa di preciso quando senza contare l'mp4 della mektek.
L'ho scritto qua cosi da avvisare che sono vivo agli altri ed anche avvisare dell'uscità gratis di mw4 e le sue espanzioni :) perchè alcune persone hanno come sottoiscrizione questo thread e non sanno che siamo passati ad un altro lol.

Sto parlando di mechwarrior 5 in lavorazione di cui l'hai creato tu ;) ovviamente questo è al riguardo del 4 ma sull'altro thread diamo notizie più recenti anche al riguardo del free di mw4.
Percui volevo avvisare anche queste persone che magari lasciano la sottoiscrizione a questo thread di cui ne esiste un altro che, seppure si tratta del 5, si danno notizie + recenti anche del free del 4 di cui qua non viene aggiornato :)

Sarà con il nome mektek però c'è scritto anche mercenaries ma se tu l'hai creato con l'intenzione dei pak soltanto beh allora dovremmo fucilare chi chiede aiuto per mercenaries :asd: no scherzo lol :D vabbe se era la tua intenzione di farlo solo per i mektek pak allora non voglio rovinare il thread ;)

Ma almeno permettimi di avvisare gli altri del free con questo offtopic :) con questo messaggio di cui ho scritto pocanzi.Infatti non si nota molto il titolo con scritto davanti "mek pack" e può avere preso in inganno(senza offesa) chi voleva il gioco base.

Perchè li venderanno sotto banco ad amazon ad una cifra stratosferica -.-' beh meglio cosi almeno sto meno tempo al pc tanto per quella data dovrei giocare ad un altro gioco percui np.
Magari ci faccio un salto solo per vedere i mech extra della mp4 oppure per vedere quanti giocano.

Cmq vedremo se sia vero o no alla fine.

Currently, MekTek is working around the hour on pretty much everything in preparation for this free release. There will be a second media blitz when the release is ready as both MekTek and the release partners want to ensure the word travels far and wide regarding the official release. Also expect to see more info regarding partner developments around this time on BattleTech.com.

The reason we did not re-package the ISOs of Mechwarrior4 and release the game as is right after the release of the announcement is because we simply were not prepared. The news and announcement of the FREE release happened very quickly and was dropped in our lap almost as quickly as it was dropped in yours. Since the announcement, we have been diligently preparing for the release of Mechwarrior4 which has all of the digital protection mechanisms removed. Along with this development we have also been working on our MekMatch software. For those of you not familiar, MekMatch is a reverse engineered protocol developed for match making services in Mechwarrior4 by MekTek. This service was developed after Microsoft terminated the Zonematch service which officially supported Mechwarrior4 multiplayer. Our MekMatch software needed a serious overhaul to handle the amount of traffic we expect on our servers when the game is released. MekTek also plans to include MekPak3.1 with the free release of Mechwarrior4 which includes an additional 100+ new battlemechs, dozens of new weapons, maps, and other content developed by MekTek. The distribution will come as a single file self-installable which will be initially downloadable via torrent trackers and later provided in multi part volumes, ISO. Finally, MekTek is also releasing a new application which has been in development since this announcement which provides the community with the latest patches and software from MekTek. This software will greatly simplify the patching process of Mechwarrior4 and allow MekTek to push updates to the Mechwarrior4 community much easier than in the past such as our MekPak4.

The unfortunate aspect of all this great news is that all of these new developments could have been ironed out before the announcement but they were not. Our partners felt an initial announcement was necessary and so did we. We plan to release Mechwarrior4 for FREE when developments are completed and considered stable. We are also waiting on legal paper work from lawyers and as anyone out there that has worked in the professional industry knows, something of this magnitude takes time on all fronts. MekTek is not receiving any financial support from the partners regarding this release and obviously no one can quit their daytime job to get the job done faster either. The release has entered beta status and will be delivered to the world very shortly. MekTek is supported through donations from our community and thus far we have received 50% of our goal to cover server infrastructure costs. We hope the community will continue to support us during this very busy time to ensure we have the best possible hardware in place for this release.

Beh, questo non avrà bisogno del CD inserito :p

Poi vedremo se ingloberanno altro oltre al MekPak (e dall'articolo si evince che di sicuro mettono il MekMatch).

Lo stavo pensando anche io ma se uno non vuole giocarci al mekpak tanto per dirne una?
Spero che ci sia anche la modalità di scegliere cosa installare infatti quello intendevo.

Well folks, as Vam posted a couple days ago, we are effecting some major upgrades to our servers and there may be server shenanigans periodically over the next few days. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause, but keep in mind, when the servers are down for upgrades, that means were gearing up for the Mercs release. Jehosephat and the rest of the crew are working their tails off preparing for the release, a little more patience and you will reap the rewards.

Its been awhile since we last updated you on the status of the FREE release of Mechwarrior4 so we felt the need to assure everyone that the time is nearing. We had hoped to release the FREE title the last weekend of summer but that unfortunately did not happen due to paperwork. As previously mentioned, I indicated that there are still a number issues to resolve before the FREE release. Those issues are resolving thanks to the hard work of many at MekTek. From a development stand point the FREE release is near ready to go but we are still waiting to resolve some of the legalities associated with such a wide distribution. While we have not provided a set date for the release, we are still on target, and our partners are happy with the progress MekTek has been making. Our focus on the FREE release has been revamping our match making service MekMatch in order to accommodate many more users. In addition to the work being conducted on the Mechwarrior4 FREE release, we are also working on a community software distribution and patching application which we have been alluding to on our forums. This software is known as MekTek X (or simply MTX). X stands for the last decade of service to the Mechwarrior community. MTX was developed out the need for a centralized distribution and patching point for all of MekTek's software currently being developed and planned to be released including MekPak4 for the FREE release, Single Player Campaigns from Mechwarrior4: Vengeance and Black Knight, Assault Tech1: BattleTech, and much more. This software has been in development by Studio MekTek since the announcement of the FREE release and successfully reached beta testing status two weeks ago. MTX is a free desktop product which has been thoroughly tested and will connect you with MekTek.net's community as well BattleTech.com and the rest of our partners.

MTX will be the central point of distribution for the launch of the FREE release. This application boasts some of the following features:

Ancora nulla? io avevo sentito che la piranha games(su un forum l'ho sentito percui non so se vero) era stata chiamata per qualche violazione di qualcosa ma non ricordo su cosa perchè l'ho sentito un mese fa e non so se è vero.
Forse erano alcuni loghi di mechwarrior.
Non so se sia questo che rallenta la uscita di mechwarrior 4 free cmq ne sapete qualcosa? oppure perchè non esce?

The Mechwarrior4 FREE release is still currently to be announced. MekTek had hoped to gain permission for the release while visiting Smith and Tinker, Inc. in Seattle this week. However, we have learned that Microsoft has endured several administrative changes which currently impede the release. The good news, however, is that a meeting to finalize the release is scheduled near the American Thanks Giving Holiday. Smith and Tinker said that it will only take 1-2 more days before permission is granted. From MekTek, we are happy to report that the release is ready and awaiting permission to push that big shiny green release button at MekTek headquarters.

After many long months of waiting we have decided to release our Mechwarrior4: Mercenaries community expansion pack update known as MekPak 3.1. This MekPak update fixes many long standing bugs which have existed in our previous MekPaks including MekPak 3.02b, it also adds additional security as well as a few new game-play features. We are very pleased to present our latest work on the MekPaks after several years of no-releases on the project. We had hoped that this release would be the Mechwarrior4 Free Release promised by Smith and Tinker, Inc. last summer. However, it would seem that the Free Release is held up at Microsoft and it is unknown to us and our Studio when the Free Release will be given the final go ahead. Our community is tired of keeping the world waiting for a new Mechwarrior4 update and, as such, we will continue releasing our MekPak expansions under our original agreement with Microsoft Games and Fasa Studios. One of the restraints of our original agreement is that we are unable to provide what is commonly referred to as "no-cd" patches for the game. Thus, if your Mechwarrior4 discs are lost, destroyed, or stolen please take a look on Amazon or EBay as Mechwarrior4 discs are still available for those of you searching. Virtual World Entertainment has assured us that our work featured within the MekPak 3.1/4 will be seen on the Tesla Cockpits and Mechwarrior4: Firestorm.

Due to the demands placed upon us by industry lawyers to release the Mechwarrior4 Free release we were forced to insure our Studio at a premium rate to meet the Microsoft standard. Our insurance policy is a one year lease and we are unable to tap out of this policy until next fall. In addition to our insurance costs we are also struggling with our server costs. Currently, our server fund has run dry and staff and beta members are paying out of their pockets to help keep MekTek online. At this point we don't know from month to month if we will be able to stay online. If you enjoy our MekPaks and free services to the community, please help out if you can. If everyone that downloads the 3.1 update donated $5.00 we would have enough to cover our server costs for the next year including our MekMatch service which is now running in a clustered environment thanks to our genius Mechwarrior4 developer, Jeho.

You might be wondering what else MekTek has been doing. Most significantly, we have incorporated MekTek and opened a studio in order to create and explore new opportunities. WhiteFeather and I have been traveling around the continent setting up business relations. We’ve had meetings with the various people/groups that control the Mechwarrior/BattleTech IP (Jordan Weisman, CGL, VWE) and have positioned ourselves favorably with all involved. Unfortunately, I can’t go into detail on the opportunities that have arisen from these meetings but I can assure you that we are currently exploring a variety of avenues and determining which is the best course for MekTek and our community to take. I'd also like to mention that during WhiteFeather's trip to New Brunswick to open our Studio, we met with a part of the Canadian government that’s role is to help new businesses and promote growth in Canada. We told them what we were about and what our future plans are. I guess we must have impressed them because they were able to rush us funding to attend GDC 2010. Woohoo Canada!!

All you need to get started playing is an original Mechwarrior4: Mercenaries CD and install MTX . Then download our Mechwarrior4 install (1.7GB) through MTX. MTX can download via torrent by default as well as http for those unable to share bandwidth. Enjoy!

One of the greatest features of MekPak3.1 and of Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries in general, is the ability to customize. Mechwarrior always has been about the Mechlab, especially multiplayer. The Mechlab truly distinguishes MW4 from a long list of shooters that have come out in the past 10 years. The ability to create literally thousands of configurations allows the game to continue in popularity over its lengthy life span. Since the Free Release not only comes with the original mechs and weapons of Mercenaries, but also with the Clan and IS Mech Packs and all the Mektek mechs and weapons here is what you are getting...for free.

105 different mechs ranging from 20 to 100 tons.
9 Battle Armor
6 Infantry
32 Beam Weapons
43 Ballistic Weapons
44 Missile Weapons
7 Electronic Components
3 different types of armor

And, let's not forget the ability to add Heat Sinks to help with Heat Management, upgrading the Engine to increase Speed, and the option to add armor in incremental amounts. The same Mechlab you love has only gotten better over the years.

As if that wasn't enough, the Free Release comes with many improvements over the original Mercs thanks to the Mektek Mekpaks, like added security and a new kind of zone for multiplayer.

That brings us to what many of you have been looking forward to most of all: the new and exciting features and improvements that have been added solely for this special release. Yes, it is true that MP3.1 is essentially the same as Mektek's most recent patch 3.02b. However, there are some notable exceptions as follows:

Clan and IS Mech Pack mechs available in campaign!
Mektek mechs appear sprinkled throughout the campaigns in Free Market and Salvage!
Mektek weapons added to campaigns!
Zonematch has been replaced with MekMatch in all visible text and is the one and only mech-matching service.
5 new MekMatch servers to host and play on! You can change servers whenever you like. Each server has a dedicated community to cater to!

"Connect" and "Host" default to the last server chosen!

For those that will be hosting games:

New features for dedicated servers like the ability to add a fixed number of bots to a dedicated server upon launch chosen in setup! Bot Levels can also be set. Default game length has been changed to 30 minutes instead of original 10.

Other Improvements:

Game loads much quicker but still requires CD and deletion of Community Satire Screen (Fafnir vs. Owen)
Original mechs, Clan and IS Mech Pack, and Mektek mechs arranged alphabetically in Mechlab list (no longer have special symbols in front of the mech name except for Battle Armors and Infantry).
New Screenshot Folder for in-game screenshots (instead of the main Mercs installation folder where it was difficult to locate them).

Improvements on-screen

LTRI (Long Tom Range Indicator) added when a weapon with trajectory is installed on a mech! Torso pitch angle in degrees is also shown! Even height of mech has been calculated and accounted for in range.
Mission and Computer Clock added as part of the UI. Mission Clock is a semi-transparent pie chart indicating how much time is left on a multiplayer map!
Mad Cat Mk II wire frame graphic used for targeted Mektek mechs. This easily shows condition of S1 and S2 weapon slots for pilots!
Additional Chat state. Besides the in-game chat box's normal and large size you have the option of completely turning off chat (disappears). Pressing the "y" or "u" key (general chat and team chat) causes the chat box to reappear!

Exploits fixed!

No more Catnapping
Chat hack - Truncation of chat in the creation of long names limited to 16 characters
Projection fixed
Hitting Ctrl + p (print screen/screenshot) causes on-screen notification in chat with player name
No extended slide with Get Up command
No more infinite jump (fuel does not recharge when window bar is held)
Software delay warning causes on-screen notification in chat

In pratica hanno fatto un package di installazione da usare con i cd originali (sperando che sia ancora leggibile)....più comodo che doversi reinstallare tutto dai vari cd e dai singoli file (mekpacks, ecc) però alla fine è sempre il gioco da cd :rolleyes:
Anche io aspettavo il gioco con il no-patch....sarebbe stato ancora meglio.
Poi Ms non lo supporta neanche più questo gioco ed è grazie a Mektek con tutto il lavoro che hanno fatto e stanno facendo che può vivere ancora....buccioni che non sono altro :)

Aspetta qualche settimana :D.....colpa di MS: il prodotto è GIA' pronto, devono solo cambiare 1 file in pratica.

Cmq per chi non avesse come "D" il lettore CD:

If your CD/DVD/Optical drive is NOT "DRIVE D:" then open this little file and change the CDPath to whatever your Optical Drive Letter is.
Once you make the change, you may have to reboot your machine, some do, some dont, then be sure that your Mercs Cd is in whatever drive you changed the registry to and double click the new Icon on your desk top.
YOu prolly will have to adjust your settings (autoconfig comes up 1st) to your liking, click UNBLOCK if your firewall tells you mercs wants to go play on the internet, accept the EULA and then the game should start right up.

Ricordo che se vuoi giocarci in finestra basta che metti "-window" come parametro di lancio all'exe nel collegamento :D

Domanda inutile è normale che riparta da capo :D
Cmq meglio così, sono ripartito da capo, però sono gia ad 1gb scaricato via http...sfrutto meglio la connessione che con il torrent...adesso sto scaricando ad 1.5mb/s
