Iwill Corporation today announced its new Socket A motherboard KD266 featuring Acer Laboratories new M1649 north bridge and it’s highly efficient M1535D+ south bridge. KD266 will be the Ultimate Value motherboard for the mainstream consumer market. Ultimate Value features include: support for 266MHz Front Side Bus (FSB) Athlons up to 1.2GHz processor speeds, Low Pass Filter technology and native dual channel Ultra ATA-100 support for 4 IDE devices, perfect for the value market.

Iwill promises that its feature-rich KD266 series motherboards will deserve the title of Ultimate Value motherboard for AMD AthlonTM and DuronTM processors. These features include:

Ultra-Fast 266MHz FSB is now needed more than ever as the latest development in operating systems and software applications continue to tax the system hardware. With processor speeds now exceeding the 1 GHz barrier, increasing the Front Side Bus is a good way of improving overall system performance. Iwill’s KD266 series motherboard integrates ALi’s new “M1649” North bridge for compatibility with 266MHz/200MHz FSB processors and “M1535D+” South bridge for Ultra ATA-100 support for native dual IDE channels.

Maximum Expansion opportunities are now available in the new KD266 series design. Expansion slots are available for 6 x 32 bit PCI, and 1 AGP 4X port. 3 DIMM slots support up to 3GB of 100MHz/133MHz bus system memory (PC133, PC100, Virtual Channel SDRAM supported)

Microstepping Technology was developed by Iwill to offer ease in adjustment of Front Side Bus via continuous 1Mhz increments up to 166MHz.
